Do you have a desire to serve your local communities? At New York State Solar, we work to bring solar energy to homes here on Long Island through the NY-Sun Incentive Program. As a local, private organization, N.Y.S.S. works to create a more environmentally and economically resilient Long Island with renewable energy and social responsibility. We partner with L.I. residents, businesses, non-profits, governments and other entities to expand local energy production. Our mission is to remove the barriers to going solar and approve residential homeowners for the NY-Sun Incentive Program through the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority.

To determine if the homeowner will be eligible for the NY-Sun Incentive Program, the following competencies are required:
Comprehend our mission to remove the barriers to solar energy on Long Island; learn the requirements of the NY Sun Incentive Program and how we facilitate the transition to solar energy.
Canvass local neighborhoods to briefly introduce the program to homeowners and determine their interest in solar energy.
Schedule appointments for folks who indicate they are interested to see if they qualify for the NY-Sun Incentive Program.
Provide excellent customer service and communication skills when educating members of our local community on the elements of going solar.
Market research, including customer demographics and relevant statistical data.

Hours of Operation and schedule:
Schedule 1: 8:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m
Schedule 2: 2:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m
This position is offered as both a full-time and part-time role; you choose the days you work, choosing either Schedule 1 or Schedule 2. A full-time role consists of 5 days worked per week.
