Experiential Educators/Teachers and Medical Staff

Nature’s Classroom has been recognized for excellence by the National Science Teachers Association, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the State of Connecticut. As the premiere residential environmental education program in the northeast, over 450 schools make Nature’s Classroom an integral part of their academic experience. In 44 years of programing, nearly one million students have come to us to learn and grow. 

 

Locations:

Connecticut: Andover, Colebrook, Ivoryton, Lakeside

Massachusetts: Becket, Charlton, Groton, Yarmouthport

Maine: Ocean Park

New Hampshire: Freedom, Hancock

New York: Silver Bay

Rhode Island: Wakefield


Responsibilities and Duties:

- Group leader and teacher in 5-day residential program

- Develop and present classes in a variety of academic areas

- Special projects and light maintenance of the facility

- Evening activities and mealtime duties

 

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree (paid internships available for those without a degree)

- Strong commitment to educate children

- Special skills (music, singing, storytelling) helpful

- Energetic, dedicated & able to become involved in all aspects of the program

- Experience working with children desired


Benefits:

- $210 to $350 per week based on education and experience

- Room and board 7 days a week

- The opportunity to educate in an informal setting at a 1 to 12 ratio

Spring semester runs from mid-March to early-June Fall semester runs from Labor Day to mid-December (exact dates vary by facility).
