Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG), a well-respected consulting firm providing support to a wide range of federal, state, and commercial clients, is seeking a full-time mid-level scientist to join our team of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) professionals and natural resource management specialists.
Qualified candidates will:
Work within multidisciplinary teams supporting the preparation of NEPA Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of planned federal actions and identify appropriate mitigation measures;
Support a variety of natural resources management efforts, such as developing Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans (INRMPs) for federal properties;
Develop technical guidance pertaining to horticultural operations and integrated pest management;
Perform desktop-based research;
Use GIS to develop maps;
Perform occasional field studies; and
Support consultations with state and federal natural resources management agencies.

Candidates must have:
BS or MS degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, environmental policy, biology, or a related field;
3 to 8 years of experience;
Candidates must be able to demonstrate exceptional technical writing capabilities, be able to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders both orally and in writing, and be able to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines, while providing quality client-ready deliverables; and
Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
Ideal candidates will have:
Experience in managing or supporting the preparation of NEPA EAs and/or EISs;
Knowledge and experience in multimedia resource management (e.g., air quality, pollution prevention, hazardous materials sampling and management, soil and groundwater contamination), sustainable development (e.g., LEED certification, energy and water use efficiency, waste minimization, stormwater management); and
Project management experience (preferred, but not required).
