This position assists the Land Conservation Program Director in coordinating the overall functions and operations of the LCP by assigning staff responsibilities and monitoring progress on LCP projects as well as managing projects as assigned by the LCP Director. Provides in-line supervision for 5 team members, including 3 Project Managers, an Asset Manager and an Administrative Assistant. Knowledgeable about all aspects of LCP program management and directorship, including land conservation, real estate transactions including negotiation and preparation of third-party land use agreements, statutory and regulatory aspects of conservation lands, federal and non-federal grant management, conservation easements, geography including the fundamentals of GPS, survey and mapping, preparation and delivery of presentations to senior staff and the TPW Commission, and asset management. Acts as LCP Director in absence of said Director. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachlor’s degree.
Four years experience in team or program management, to include project management, staff supervision, and resource management.
Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid class “C” Texas driver’s license.
NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining required license.
