The Energy Foundation’s nonprofit mission is to serve the public interest by building a strong, clean energy economy. Pragmatic and nonpartisan, the foundation supports education and analysis to promote policy solutions that build markets for clean energy technology. Advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency can open doors to greater innovation and productivity—growing the economy with dramatically less pollution.
A partnership of leading foundations launched the Energy Foundation in 1991 and Energy Foundation China in 1999. In the U.S., our program teams build broad support at the regional, state, and national levels to advance clean energy in the power, transportation, and buildings sectors, and to promote climate policy solutions.
For more than 25 years we have supported grantees to help educate business and community leaders, policymakers, and the general public about the health and economic benefits of a clean energy economy. Grantees include business, health, labor, environmental, faith, and consumer groups, as well as policy leaders, military organizations, think tanks, and universities.
The foundation’s headquarters are in San Francisco, CA, with regional offices in Raleigh, NC; Chicago, IL; Las Vegas, NV; and an office opening soon in the Northeast region. Energy Foundation China offices are located in Beijing, China.
The Program Associate, Southeast’s (PA) primary responsibility is to support the work of the regional team’s Policy and Campaigns Program Directors, who jointly develop strategies and manage activities by a network of advocacy professionals and grantees at the regional and state levels.
The PA will set up meetings with grantees, consultants and funders, track and manage the program budget, occasionally review grant proposals, draft reports, and communicate with grantees and funders on a variety of issues. The PA will work with multiple programs, collaborating and coordinating across teams and programs.
