Yellowstone Forever is the official nonprofit partner of Yellowstone National Park. We partner with Yellowstone National Park to create opportunities for all people to experience, enhance, and preserve Yellowstone forever. Our combined operations include 11 educational Park Stores with gross sales of over $5.1 million; the Yellowstone Forever Institute, which offers more than 600 in-depth programs each year; a supporter program of over 50,000 Yellowstone enthusiasts raising funds to support critical park priority projects; and an online community of over 300,000 worldwide. Yellowstone Forever has provided over $100 million of cash support and over $55 million of in-kind support since 1933. Our mission of engagement and support through education and fundraising for the park will ensure Yellowstone remains for generations to come.
The Director of Online Engagement plays a critical role in Yellowstone Forever’s operations, responsible for developing and executing YF’s digital engagement strategy. This position will focus on increasing outreach through email, social media, and other digital channels, and the creation of digital engagement activities aimed at converting digital followers to supporters who invest in Yellowstone National Park.
Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications to develop a digital strategy and execution plan that includes 5-year growth targets for online reach and engagement.
Develop and test digital fundraising and marketing strategies to grow and diversify our donor base and engage and maintain existing donors.
Create and implement YF’s online strategy and ensuring digital strategies are aligned with revenue goals.
Manage analytics and reporting across YF’s digital program.
Manage in-kind and paid digital media strategies, including Google Ad Words.
Oversee the integration of generational giving principles into fundraising strategies, communications, and educational content to diversify our supporter base.
Develop strategies for donor-centered moves management and systemic cultivation of major and planned gift prospects—with the understanding that most major gifts and planned gifts come from donors who begin as annual fund donors and Society members.
Plan engaging educational content that drives traffic to the website, and increases digital followers.
Ensure YF’s donation options are donor-friendly, relevant, mobile responsive, and easy-to-find.
Manage segmentation strategies for the YF audience and disseminate targeted information about ways to support Yellowstone Forever.
Supervising the Online Engagement Manager and Social Media and Digital Content Manager.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience executing online fundraising initiatives and working in online fundraising platforms
Proven track record of developing content for web, email, and social media that builds audience engagement
Strong understanding of and experience leveraging digital analytics to inform audience engagement and content decisions
Proven track record of developing and managing successful digital campaigns
Experience managing and leading staff
Experience with digital platform development, including management of digital agencies and/or freelance creative and tech developers
Practical understanding of content management systems, marketing automation systems, online fundraising platforms, and digital monitoring and analytic tools
Ability to collaborate with external creative agencies and tech support
Commitment to Yellowstone Forever’s mission
Ability to sometimes work a flexible schedule, which may include nights and weekends when needed
This position involves driving YF vehicles, therefore applicants must hold and maintain a valid US driver’s license, and maintain a favorable driving record for insurance purposes
A satisfactory criminal background check are conditions of employment
Master’s degree in a related field
Experience working in a non-profit environment
Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park
This is a full-time, year-round position that must have home office in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington. This is an exempt position, with a competitive salary based upon experience.
