Nexamp is a fully integrated solar energy developer, builder, owner, and operator seeking a Director, Project Acquisitions to lead the sourcing, diligence, acquisition, and late-stage development of solar assets from our Boston, MA or Washington D.C. office (other locations negotiable). The ideal candidate will have significant experience with solar project development and asset acquisitions, along with a thorough understanding of project finance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for leading all phases of solar asset acquisition, from deal sourcing to close of financing and commencement of project construction. Key responsibilities include:
Lead all phases of solar project asset acquisition, including project sourcing, evaluation, proposal and bid formulation, and oversight of late-stage development for projects that meet Nexamp performance thresholds in strategic geographies.
Lead the due-diligence review of prospective solar development asset acquisitions.
For acquired assets, coordinate final development tasks, inclusive of design and engineering, permitting, interconnection, revenue contracting, and real estate title review, to facilitate project financing and start of construction.
Develop schedules and budgets for acquired assets and manage projects to associated milestones.
Closely monitor the solar policy and regulatory framework in targeted states to facilitate successful acquisitions within those states.
Source, vet, engage and manage external consultants in conjunction with late-stage development activities.
Work with state, county and local governments, community groups, and neighbors in support of late-stage development activities.
Support internal finance, design, engineering, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction.
Develop sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as needed to support project acquisition efforts; implement targeted marketing campaigns to drive acquisition pipeline.
Travel as needed; some evening and weekend work required.

4+ years of solar industry experience in a business development role, with a successful track record in project development and asset acquisition
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
4-year college degree in a relevant discipline
Extensive knowledge of state-level solar policy and regulations
