Nexamp is seeking a Community Solar Associate to lead community solar outreach in New York State (and Western Massachusetts, as needed). The Associate may work remotely, and will be expected to travel regionally to engage local municipalities, organizations, small businesses, and residential customers to promote the opportunities created by local community solar projects.
Nexamp is a fully integrated solar energy developer, builder, owner and operator. Our Community Solar offering allows residential, nonprofit, and small business customers to subscribe to one of our solar farms, support local sources of renewable energy, and save on their electricity bills. The Associate role presents an excellent opportunity for an aspiring sales, business development, or community organizing professional to help expand access to the benefits of solar energy.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate will report directly to the Community Solar Manager and lead community solar outreach in New York State. Specific duties as follows:
Build and manage network of community organizations and prospective customers in a burgeoning new market.
Communicate with prospective customers to effectively convey the Community Solar value proposition.
Lead or assist in educational and sales presentations to municipal, business, nonprofit or residential groups.
Foster leads from origination through close of sale for Community Solar participants.
Assist with administrative and technical aspects of launching Nexamp’s Community Solar offering in a new market.
Utilize Salesforce CRM software to manage the entire sales life cycle.
Travel as needed; some evening and weekend work required.
The ideal candidate will be bright, enthusiastic, self-motivated, results-oriented, and a team player. Key qualifications as follows:
Experience in sales, outreach and/or community organizing preferred.
Experience working with government officials or in political organizing preferred.
Experience in the clean energy industry preferred, but not required.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and related software.
Experience with CRM software, such as Salesforce.
Knowledge of Massachusetts and NY State solar policy and regulations preferred.
Access to a car for frequent business-related travel.
