ReVision Energy’s Massachusetts location is looking for a Solar PV Design Engineer
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Design Engineer plays a key role in supporting the Engineering and Estimating department with preliminary and final system designs, project estimating, and post project completion documentation. The Design Engineer takes initial system concept ideas and turns them into fully detailed construction ready designs. Working on residential, commercial, and utility scale solar projects, the Design Engineer has a steady pipeline of diverse projects to design. Coordinating with AHJs, LPCs, and customers, the Design Engineer balances the necessity of a customer solution with the efficiency of standard practices.This position works closely with other members of the Engineering and Estimating teams to ensure that tasks are completed in a timely manner and without flaws.
Roles and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Learn and Understand basic grid tied photovoltaic system design, backup batteries, EV Chargers, Air Source Heat Pumps, Water Heaters, and other renewable energy products ReVision offers
Lead engineering for projects in our pipeline –residential, commercial, and utility scale
Use PVWatts and Helioscope solar modeling software along with shading analysis to provide accurate energy production estimates.
Verify initial system layout and gear location specified by the Solar Design Specialist
Complete system designs for PV and other projects including: site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, specification of BOS location and interconnection details, labeling, and as built plans.
Interface and provide streamlined project information and detailed bill of materials to the procurement managers for Residential and Commercial projects.
Provide project managers and sales department with engineering support as needed.
Understand the optimal design applications and design limitations of our standard products, and lead the evaluation of alternate products
Must have strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, manage numerous projects simultaneously, and set priorities in a high pressure environment
Must be able to work self-guided in a fast paced and growing environment
Good at problem solving and great teamwork skills –fostering a positive team environment
Must bring a positive attitude; thoughtful ideas for growth of company are encouraged
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PV Watts, Helioscope, Vizio, and other commonly used software- including internet and email
Must have good oral and written communication skills

Proactive – acts without being told what to do. Brings new ideas to the process and procedures
Skills and Qualifications Desired but not Required:
Competence in PV and renewable energy technologies
Primary Working knowledge of Auto Cad, Secondary working Knowledge in Sketch Up, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project
Four-year college degree – Engineering background preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Limited physical effort
Regularly operates computer and phone
