Offshore Wind Leader

DNV GL – Energy Renewables Advisory group is seeking an Offshore Wind Leader to join our offshore wind advisory team. The Offshore Wind Leader will be responsible for strategy development and implementation, business development, project management and team management plus growing DNV GL’s position within the North American offshore wind market. This position is based out of our Medford, MA office.


Tasks May Include

Develop business strategy and deliver business growth by proactively creating and identifying opportunities;

Maintain top-quality work product and perform final approval of deliverables;

Maintain deep client relationships, identify and prioritize key clients, and pursue new clients;

Drive thought leadership and development of services through collaborative relationships with global colleagues, key industry stakeholders, and offshore clients;

Represent DNV GL as offshore wind industry leader through participation on relevant industry committees and boards;

Develop and approve competitive proposals;

Monitor and evaluate achieved results against targets and expectations and make necessary corrective actions.

Liaise with key account and business development leaders regarding resource outlook in tendering situations and opportunities for service development.

Be responsible for the resource utilization, including budgeting, resource allocation, and control activities within the framework of approved plans and budgets.

Coordinate with Human Resources for recruiting, organizing, developing, training and qualification of staff;

Regularly re-assess individuals’ competence level and actively support the competence and career development of employees.

Manage team performance including goal-setting, coaching and dialogue, career development, and evaluate the performance of individuals.


Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering, atmospheric science, or mathematics field. Master’s degree preferred

Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 5 years of experience with project development and engineering of offshore wind plants

Have a commercial attitude and a strategic mindset

Comprehensive understanding of the North American offshore wind energy market.

Excellent oral and written English communications skills

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients

Ability to work effectively and professionally with diverse people – clients and co-workers

Strong analytical, reporting and organizational abilities

Excellent skills with MS Office Suite

Demonstrated skills in project coordination, team management, and leadership

Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time domestically to conferences, client meetings, project sites, agency and internal meetings
