Lead Commercial Service Electrician

Namaste Solar is seeking a Lead Commercial Service Electrician to perform service and inspections for utility scale ground mount, commercial roof mount and housing community solar PV projects. The successful candidate will bring Solar Industry experience to ensure the highest installation and service quality. The candidate for this role will be a collaborative team player with exceptional communication skills and can work autonomously and self-directed.



Lead teams of 1-8 personnel in the field performing system commissioning and service activities

Travel to local and national PV sites for commissioning Namaste Solar installations

Prepare customer-facing commissioning reports

Data Acquisition System installation and set up

Support successful QA/QC and commissioning throughout Namaste Solar installation process

Share monitoring responsibilities of recent installations and analyze site issues

Troubleshoot and repair Warranty Work in an efficient and safe manner

Maintain accurate Salesforce work order documentation

Provide feedback to Service Manager/Design/Install/Sales for best practice improvement

Reliable and dependable adherence to designated work schedule

Effectively create, track, and process RMA work orders and track necessary details to ensure proper shipping, receiving, installation, return of materials to OEM, and OEM payment for work performed

Respond to customer emails and phone calls, inform and educate customers on possible system issues

Direct and timely communication with Commercial Service Manager concerning any escalating customer service issues


Skills & Qualifications

Colorado State Journeyman Electrical license or equivalent

Ability and willingness to work safely in a variety of conditions including: live electricity, heights, ladders, pitched roof surfaces, and various weather conditions

Strong understanding of all aspects of PV electrical trade including: PV system design, installation, troubleshooting, and DAS

Ability to read construction documents, blueprints, and one-line drawings

Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Understanding of OSHA and NFPA 70E workplace safety requirements

Skills of the electrical trade including but not limited to safety, electrical wiring, sizing conduit, sizing wire, and bending pipe

Ability to use a variety of electrical tools safely and effectively including electrical meters, thermal imaging cameras, and IV curve tracers

Comfortable with leading complete DAS installation and setup, both on site and backend data entry for reliable data collection

Excellent problem-solving skills

Excellent organizational skills

Extensive knowledge of renewable energy technologies

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Self-starter and self-reliant. Capable of operating effectively with minimum supervision

Excellent computer skills including typing, Microsoft Office programs, PDF editing, customer management tools

You don't need to have these, but you'll be even more prepared for the job if you have:

NABCEP Certification

Commercial construction experience

Salesforce experience


Compensation and Terms

This position is full-time. Must be able to commute to both Denver and Boulder.

Hourly rate dependent on experience with pay increase eligibility after 6 months

2 weeks paid time off and 10 floating holidays (accrues immediately)

Health, dental and vision within first 30 days

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift and climb ladders to access roofs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Driving required to site locations

Work environment: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. Work environment changes by project, but can be anticipated to be flat or pitched roofs or ground mounted installations on uneven terrain. High and potentially dangerous exposure to electricity. The daily temperature varies from hot to cold depending on the season.
