Senior Project Manager, Renewables

CES has a growing project pipeline and we are looking to add an essential member to the Renewable Energy team in Valhalla, NY. The Senior Project Manager - Renewables will be responsible for managing all activities required to deliver successful solar PV systems or battery energy storage systems to customers. Projects include Investment Grade Audits, assessments, solar system construction, battery energy storage systems, implementation contracts, conceptual engineering designs, and system commissioning. The Senior Project Manager will manage the customer, project-related strategic alliances, project budgets and subcontractor relationships as well as provide in-house support to the development, engineering and construction groups to maintain project schedules.

 

Responsibilities

Develop, coordinate and manage project support services including but not limited to project design.

Budgeting and scheduling.

Qualification, selection and management of contractors, subcontractors and equipment vendors.

Development and structuring project-related contracts; maintaining close contact with the customer; and production of customer deliverables.

Manage phases of construction and performance contracts including maintain or enhance customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with engineering, development and project management teams in conducting design optimization and value engineering of energy projects.

Conduct constructibility reviews, perform cost estimating and purchasing functions.

Manage field-related project planning, scheduling and quality control; coordinate field construction project management.

Direct construction contract administration and risk management activities; and manage budgets, schedules, invoicing and other contract requirements.

 

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor degree in engineering, construction, project management or related degree required

Project Management Profession certification preferred

 

Experience:

5+ years of progressive experience in managing and implementing a range of renewable energy and design/build related projects preferred

Previous budget, schedule, performance and quality responsibility

Specific experience with Renewable Energy Generation in the Commercial and Industrial markets or Utility scale required.

Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up/turnover and subsequent O&M of renewable projects

Prior Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical or EMCS design experience is a plus

 

Job Skills:

Expertise in building codes, permitting and labor issues

Sound and proven construction management and project management skills

Strong contract administration and construction risk management skills

Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to represent the company

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong computer skills including Excel, MS Project and Word

Must have a valid driver’s license

Up to 50% travel may be required
