We are currently hiring a Wind Turbine Field Engineer to join our Power Performance Test team.
In this position you will be responsible for onsite field activities in support of the installation and commissioning of power measurement equipment and oversee installation of meteorological towers. This position will also be responsible to support other client or internal project related tasks as required. Our ideal candidate will have a background in either Electrical Engineering or related technical degree and has field experience with Wind Turbines and/or Meteorological towers. Our new team member will be climbing trained and must be comfortable working at heights.
Additional responsibilities include:
Perform installation of power measurement equipment inside wind turbines, will require to climb certain turbine models.
Perform onsite audits of meteorological (met) towers and other wind measurement equipment.
Participate in the installation and commissioning of wind measurement equipment including wiring of sensors into dataloggers.
Provide equipment specifications and support for wind.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
Provide well-written, detailed documentation and reports.
Work effectively with colleagues to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products while working collaboratively with other teams and business units as needed.
Participate in informal and formal departmental training activities.
Attend regular departmental and team meetings. Perform all other duties as they may be assigned.
Ability to travel frequently (50%) and upon short notice; maintain an up to date passport.
Campbell datalogger programming.
Build data acquisition enclosures for power measurement and met tower applications.
Performs other duties as directed.
Associates degree in a technical field required. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Wind Energy Engineering degree is highly preferred.
1-2 years previous experience in the field of renewable energy, measurement services, or field support.
Comfortable with heights.
