RRC is seeking a talented Solar Scientist, Innovation Engineer, Computer Scientist, Data Analyst to support utility-scale solar and wind farm designs. Location can be Denver, CO or Portland, OR. The candidate will be mainly focused in the electrical and SCADA groups but will work across disciplines to develop internal engineering tools, evaluate and help implement third party tools, support optimization exercises, expand energy production modeling techniques, and develop solar PPC and EMS systems for BESS/PV Solar/Wind.
RRC intends to lead the industry in design innovations and this candidate will help brainstorm and execute ideas to push the boundaries of solar and wind farm design automation and value engineering. The candidate must be flexible and willing to engage in difficult engineering challenges but will supported by our existing teams and deep experience in RE design as well as more traditional power engineering. Collaborate with existing teams and processes to outline and build new internal tools to support the design of Wind, Solar, Substation, T-Line and BESS projects
Help evaluate and integrate third party tools and software into existing design processes.
Work with external clients to support in optimization of solar and wind projects
Provide energy modeling, post processing and solar modeling for design basis. This is a deep dive in solar engineering and setting up energy modeling and providing ownership of the energy modeling tools
Analyze solar data providing analytical investigation, trending and tools to help the SCADA system provide additional value to our clients.
BS degree in engineering.
3+ years of experience with PV solar, computer science, analytics.
Depth of experience with PV solar modeling.
Proficiency with PV and ESS system modeling tools and packages, such as PVSYST, SAM, Homer, or self-built renewable energy evaluation tools.
Possess understanding of construction and engineering principles.
Proficient with advanced features of Microsoft software tools and web applications.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Detail oriented with shown ability to manage multiple complex initiatives while acting as an agent of change.
Experience with BESS sizing and economic modeling a plus.
Contribute and be a lead in IEEE PES with white papers and technical leadership.
