We are seeking a self-motivated, engineer/geologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. This individual will lead a variety of environmental based tasks and will be responsible for multiple functions, which may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Perform field related activities including logging soil, installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells, and collecting soil, groundwater and air samples for laboratory analysis.
Ensure corporate safety standards and procedures are followed for all project activities.
Lead project teams to compile and evaluate laboratory analytical data to develop reports including soil and groundwater sampling plans.
Lead project teams to prepare technical reports for environmental based findings.
Assist with the procurement and management of subcontractors and vendors for field activities.
Assist with site remediation planning and implementation.
Evaluate laboratory analyses appropriate for the proper identification and evaluation of field samples such as, water, soil, and bedrock.
Oversee on-site field monitoring to document compliance with various federal, state, and local permit requirements during project investigation and construction.
Conduct environmental site assessments and site investigations.
Perform project management responsibilities that includes processing subcontractor/vendor invoices and preparing client invoices.
Provide technical support and mentoring to junior level staff members. Assist with supervision of staff on major projects and client programs.
As needed, meet and interact with client. Develop proposal writing and marketing responsibilities. Potential to develop into a client account manager.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geology degree is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Engineering or Geology.
Professional Engineer or Professional Geology licensure is preferred.
Previous consulting experience with a variety of project experience is a plus.
Ability to work within a team framework.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good writing and reporting skills are critical to the success of this position.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks.
Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office are required.
Knowledge of the federal and state regulations governing petroleum tank programs, leaking underground storage tank programs, and petroleum spills are preferred. In addition, OSHA and CERCLA regulations.
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and annual updates) is required.
Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
