Ecology and Environment, Inc. is seeking an Environmental / Civil Engineer for either our Corporate Headquarters office in Lancaster, New York or our Albany, New York office. Our successful candidate will have related experience inspecting remedial construction projects and strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
Develops project specifications and produces/reviews design plans and details for moderate to complex designs
Develops and analyzes design calculations and cost estimates
Provide services during construction including pre-bid support, addenda preparation, submittal review, construction monitoring, and change order preparation / review
Collect environmental samples (soil, air, groundwater, surface water, etc.)
Document performance of water and air treatment systems
Observe contractor’s health and safety activities for community protection purposes
Attend construction progress meetings
Prepare and maintain detailed records related to construction activities including a photo log
Plans and performs technical work requiring judgment and independent evaluation
Assist with project reporting
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
3 – 7 years of experience inspecting remedial construction projects
EIT certification required
Professional Engineer license preferred
Environmental consulting experience preferred
Leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with contractors and coworkers
Strong organizational, analytical and planning skills with attention to detail and a high quality of design and construction documentation work
Strong data interpretation and technical writing skills
Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, disciplines and experts including project managers, clients and other departments
Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support project needs
