Tetra Tech is seeking an environmental scientist or engineer with 1 to 5 years experience to provide support on the New Jersey Zinc/Mobile Chemical Corporation Superfund Site located in DePue, Bureau County, Illinois.
This is a full-time position for an individual with a strong technical background in the areas of removal assessment and removal/remedial action. Work will include multi-media sampling, field audits and inspections, organizing and reviewing data, preparing reports, collection of air monitoring data, contractor oversight, and related services. Candidates must live within commuting distance of this location. Applicants outside this area will not be considered. NO relocation will be provided.
Qualified candidates considered will have 1 to 5 years of environmental consulting or related experience. Strong remediation management skills. Experience with site investigations, site remediation, field sampling, and air quality is desirable. Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations is desirable.
Must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment. Excellent communication, client interaction, and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications are required. Must be able to driver a motor vehicle and pass a motor vehicle records check. B.S. in environmental science, engineering, or related degree required. 40-hour OSHA training a plus. Heavy lifting of field sampling and other equipment will be required. Candidate must also meet physical demands of hazardous waste site work. Candidate may be exposed to various weather conditions while performing field work outdoors.
