Entry Level Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist

Orlando FL

AECOM seeks to hire an environmental scientist (or Environmental Engineer or Geologist) to join the rapidly growing Orlando team. The ideal candidate would possess great communication skills, ability to learn complex topics quickly, note-taking, organization, and ability to travel as needed. Many projects are located near Orlando; however, some projects do require overnight travel.

Ability to climb ladders, work at heights in outdoor climates year-round, lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, and be medically fit for wearing a respirator.

Aptitude for operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment.

Ability to record test data neatly, accurately, and legibly

Must be able to conform to AECOM travel policies, including ability to obtain and hold the AECOM corporate credit card for use in making travel-related purchases.

Must demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees

Self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail, good time-use skills, and ability to work in a team environment

Ability to handle the demands of multiple priorities for various clients and projects

Must be proficient in MS Office applications

May require working long field days outdoors, sometimes under rigorous conditions (eg hot and/or rainy weather, remote areas, in a variety of habitats)

 

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Must be able to maintain a valid driver's license and medical clearance for DOT driving.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and analysis is a plus

AutoCAD experience is a plus

40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
