Arcadis is seeking an ambitious, hardworking, dependable Staff Environmental Scientist to join our world-class firm in Seattle, Washington. This mid-level full-time position will be involved in various activities which support a diverse portfolio of environmental permitting, assessment and remediation projects. This position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
This position will support multiple clients and an array of environmental issues. The candidate will have demonstrated experience in spatial data collection, ArcGIS Online, or Enterprise GIS (ArcServer, SDE). It is preferred candidates have experience with multiple levels of ArcMap products as well as ESRI extensions, and ArcGIS Pro. Experience with environmental data management, relational databases, and performing field work are also a plus.
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Use of ESRI ArcGIS 10.x in daily work specializing in the following areas: geoprocessing and spatial analysis, enterprise spatial data management, design and creation of geodatabases, script workflow using Python or related process, map production, and technology support and troubleshooting
Establish field data collection routines using ESRI Collector, Survey123, Fulcrum, or other related applications
Design and prepare complete and accurate working plans, charts, scaled drawings and revisions for complex projects
Produce high quality deliverables utilizing various software packages such as Microsoft Office, ESRI products, AutoCAD, and other related software
Coordinate to assure compliance with project and budgetary requirements
Responsible for maintaining organized files, reports, field surveys, and other data
Work well independently and in team environment; receive some instruction on new tasks
Keep apprised of currently available software solutions, new technology, and data integration techniques

Python, Python, XML, or other automation and development language
Trimble GPS Pathfinder Office
NEPA, FERC, or similar regulatory compliance experience
Excellent professional and organization skills, good written and verbal communication skills. Experience with environmental planning and compliance aspects of environmental consulting is preferred. Good problem-solving skills and experience with the latest versions of ESRI products are required, as well as the ability to perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with exceptional quality in the work product.
4-8 years of Environmental GIS experience
Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology or related degree
