WSSI is a seeking an experienced (5+ years of related professional experience), highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist to join our team in Millersville, Maryland.
Forest stand delineation/Natural resource inventory studies;
Wetlands mitigation monitoring;
Stream restoration monitoring;
Chesapeake Bay Critical Area studies;
Assistance with business development;
Participating in industry organizations; and
Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences or a related discipline;
Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) designation;
FCA Qualified Professional;
Experience coordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to the Clean Water Act and Nontidal Wetlands and Waterways permitting;
Ability to work independently and with a team;
Superior oral and written communication skills;
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision;
Knowledge of local land development practices;
Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors; and,
Willingness to regularly travel regionally.
MBSS certification in macroinvertebrate collection and identification;
Master’s Degree in environmental sciences; and,
GIS and/or CAD experience.
