Environmental Engineer

Baton Rouge LA

We have an opportunity in our Baton Rouge, LA office for an Environmental Engineer who aspires to become an active employee in a vibrant, well-established company.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Performing a variety of duties for environmental and engineering projects to include but not limited to: management, compliance, engineering, remediation

Coordinate multiple projects/tasks and interface with clients, government agencies and other GHD offices

Meeting the requirements of applicable Federal and State regulations

Conducting environmental evaluations

Preparing general compliance requirements such as SWPPP and SPCC Plan’s

Completing Phase I and Phase II ESA’s

Supervising environmental and engineering contractors

Preparing routine correspondence and peer reviewed reports such as data reports, engineering reports, and work plans for internal and client review

 

Skills, Competencies, Qualifications:

B.S. or M.S. degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or a related field of study

5 to 10 years of experience in environmental consulting field, including previous project management experience including engineering, compliance, remediation, and monitoring of environmental projects

Strong problem solving abilities and aptitude

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials is a must

Positive attitude, very strong interpersonal skills

Willingness to travel as required

Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks

Must reside in Baton Rouge, La or surrounding area

Working knowledge of Federal and State environmental regulations is desirable

OHSA 40-hour HAZWOPER training considered an asset
