The individual in this position will assist with environmental/engineering tasks for site investigation and remediation projects. Position responsibilities will support the characterization of contaminated sites, remediation system design and operation, system monitoring, data management/tracking and reporting. Tasks would include implementation of field investigations, developing work plans, analyzing and reporting data, preparing technical reports, preparation of regulatory documents, monitoring well installation, drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, implementing pilot studies, remedial system construction and other related activities. The role may involve the selection, coordination, and management of subcontractors, cost estimating, and management of the scope, schedule, and budget for various project tasks. Report writing and interaction with project staff, clients and regulatory agencies will also play an important role in the candidate’s success.
Candidate should be a self-starter with strong writing skills and possess a desire for on-site field work to support a wide range of science and engineering projects. Candidates must also have excellent verbal communication skills combined with leadership and mentorship ability, a positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and within teams.
3-6 years' experience in environmental consulting industry.
BS in civil/environmental engineering, hydrogeology, geology, environmental science or related discipline, Master’s Degree preferred.
Excellent writing and communication skills - Report writing skills are essential.
Knowledge of and experience implementing programs in accordance with applicable environmental regulations, including New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Part 360 Solid Waste Regulations, NYSDEC Petroleum Bulk Storage Regulations, and NYSDEC DER-10: Technical Guidance for Site Investigation and Remediation. Familiarity with the New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act and Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) program a plus.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and ArcGIS preferred, familiarity with database software and CAD is a plus.
Familiarity with and working knowledge of remedial systems; general construction and mechanical skills is a plus.
40 hour OSHA training is a plus.
