This entry level position supports the data needs for a wide-range of surface water, groundwater, and water quality modeling projects designed to protect natural resources and support Florida’s growth by ensuring the sustainable use of Florida’s water.
Job duties include:
· Work on a team with hydrologists, engineers, and scientists to create water quantity and water quality models for managing key elements of water resources in northeast Florida. Organize and manage large datasets that include meteorological, GIS, hydrologic, and water quality data. On a typical day, assess quality of existing data, evaluate alternative sources of data, or conduct statistical data analyses.
· Help to proactively identify data needs of current and planned modeling projects. This will require regular meetings with different project teams to keep apprised of their model needs.
· Assist with model set-up, testing, and archiving. This could include working with both surface and groundwater models, hydrodynamic models, and water quality models of lakes and rivers.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in geology, hydrology or related field.
Professional experience in the areas described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
Base Salary: $39,894.40
