Sustainability Coordinator

West Lafayette IN

Job Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Sustainability within the Campus Planning and Sustainability Group, the Sustainability Coordinator will work on, and in some cases manage, Purdue sustainability initiatives. This position will be very active in engaging with the campus community. This person will both advocate for, demonstrate, and present improved sustainability performance for Purdue University Physical Facilities.



Bachelor’s Degree in sustainability, environmental management, architecture, engineering, or other related field

Two years of successful sustainability program design and sustainability program implementation

Experience in developing presentation materials

Demonstrated ability to work on projects independently and solve poorly defined problems

Ability to communicate clearly - writing, speaking, graphics

Ability to analyze data and develop actionable findings

Self-directed, comfort in ambiguity and working through poorly defined problems

Attention to detail and follow-up

Willingness to engage a variety of stakeholders and change management

A valid US or Canadian Driver's license



Master's degree

Green building accreditation (LEED, WELL, LFA, Fitwel, etc.)


Additional Information:

FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)

Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting Period
