Support, assist with, and provide environmental expertise to ensure compliance with regulatory environment programs. Coordinate and monitor US Marine Corps (USMC) National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) efforts in the PACOM AOR. Coordinate to ensure USMC interests are represented and fulfilled, including NEPA documentation, master planning, real estate planning, and scheduling with HQMC Facilities (LF), NAVFAC, III MEF units, consultants, and federal and local government agencies and others. Coordinate mitigation with federal agencies. Assist executive agents with supporting USMC efforts to conduct basic environmental assessments. Prepare, research, review, and edit environmental and technical documents and reports, manage file and records, assist with maintaining the offices NEPA administrative record, and support, assist with, and coordinate office functions. This position is located in Honolulu, HI.
-Experience with leading resource consultations, including cultural, terrestrial, and marine mammal in support of NEPA required
-Knowledge of NEPA regulations, legal precedents, and federal environmental laws and requirements is required
-Knowledge of a variety of scientific, engineering, environmental fields equivalent to environmental impact analyses
-Knowledge of NEPA compliance procedures, policies, and guidance required
-Ability to develop recommendations for the mitigation of adverse environmental impacts or other measures to avoid confrontation or regulatory delays
-Ability to show proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint, develop business correspondence, including memos, letters, and e
-mail, and develop spreadsheets, slides, and various presentations, as needed
-BA or BS degree in Environmental Science and 5+ years of experience with NEPA required
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent independent thinking and customer service skills, including daily interaction with various levels of rank and authority and military and civilians
