Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Panama City, FL office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our team of outstanding professionals. The individual will perform work directly with both private and public clients on environmental permitting and environmental restoration projects. The individual will also be responsible for business development in the Gulf Coast region, marketing and maintaining client relationships.
Primary focus is to execute project activities with client and project team and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
Coordinate site visits with clients and regulatory agencies.
Complete permit compliance conditions.
Document and report field investigations and analyses.
Prepare plans, specifications, maps, exhibits and supporting documentation for client and regulatory approvals.
Support proposal preparation, contract execution, and budget/schedule adherence.
Perform technical work and develop project execution strategies.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Forestry, Wildlife Biology, or related field is required.
An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Biology, Botany, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science & Policy, Hydrogeology or related field is preferred.
10+ years of work experience with environmental permitting required.
Must have experience with United States Army Corps of Engineers, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the Water Management Districts permitting and compliance conditions.
Must have experience with environmental restoration projects within the Gulf Coast region.
Must have experience drafting technical reports and documents including watershed management plans and habitat conservation plans.
Must have familiarity with the RESTORE Act including the process and stakeholders.
Proficiency with ArcGIS and AutoCAD is preferred.
Ability to manage and mentor environmental staff.
