The Environmental Scientist at Fort Carson will be:
Responsibility for a wide variety of tasks associated with environmental regulatory program areas hazardous material management, hazardous waste management, air quality, storage tank management, Pollution Prevention, storm water, and solvent reuse activities.
Responsible for scientific review tasks to include, but not limited to: reviewing data from field sampling activities; consulting on best management plans (BMPs) to mitigate or prevent contamination at military operational sites; conducting waste profile analysis; and preparing final reports.
Must be professional and courteous in all interactions.
BS in environmental science, engineering or related field (2-5 years experience).
Proficient in understanding and evaluating compliance with Federal and State regulations, such as the RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, TSCA, and DoD Environmental Policies and Procedures.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point MS Share Point, and MS Access).
Demonstrate reliability, self motivated, and a strong work ethic, exhibit time management skills, be detail oriented, and perform work accurately in a work in a collaborative environment.
Environmental Compliance Auditing on DoD installations a plus
Department of Defense operations familiarity a plus.
Database manipulation and GIS skills a plus.
Must be able to obtain a successful background check being completed as well as having, or being able to obtain in a reasonable time, the required government clearances to perform the responsibilities HDR has been contracted to perform. In some cases this could mean, but is not limited to a CAC card, network access and/or restricted area badges.
