The Delaware Division of Climate, Coastal and Energy is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional for the position of Climate Change Principal Planner.
This position will be based out of our Dover, DE offices and will lead efforts to plan, design and implement policies and programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Delaware. This includes developing and implementing statewide strategies for greenhouse gas reductions with a particular emphasis on transportation emissions, tracking progress towards mitigation goals, managing annual grant programs of 1.5 million dollars per year, and coordinating State agency efforts. This position will support the State's participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the US Climate Alliance and the Transportation and Climate Initiative. The position may also have supervisory responsibilities.
The position will be part of the Climate and Sustainability Section, a small and engaged team of climate mitigation, clean transportation, climate adaptation and sustainability practitioners. The section works at the state and local level to develop policies and deploy programs that reduce emissions, prepare for climate change impacts and increase sustainability.
