HDR is looking for an Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team in Charleston, SC. In this role, we'll count on you to
• Provide technical expertise in NEPA, permitting, and related environmental services during construction phase at project level.
• Assist with maintaining and growing HDR’s environmental compliance program through development of client relationships and identification of opportunities for expansion of our environmental services
• Manage and deliver several projects concurrently.
• Establish client relations and support marketing, contractual, design and production meetings as needed
BS/MS degree in Environmental Sciences (or related field) required
6+ years technical and or field experience completing environmental reviews, preparing environmental documentation and environmental permits.
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel) and GIS, familiarity with Microstation/AutoCad
Strong environmental writing and communication skills including comfort with public speaking a must
Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving and research abilities required
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, the ability to make most decisions independently without input from senior management, and the ability to interact with clients or client designees
Proficiency with providing environmental compliance services within the industry, specifically in the transportation market
Demonstrated knowledge of USACE/FHWA/FTA/FRA/FAA NEPA and state (SCDOT, DHEC, OCRM) environmental processes
Experience managing linear infrastructure projects within the transportation industry and/or other public sector arenas
Local candidates are preferred
