Under the leadership of the Director of Electric Reliability Compliance (ERC), is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of Operations & Planning Department staff. SRP's reliability compliance program maintains a corporate culture that promotes the commitment to adopt and enforce effective internal controls and procedures to ensure reliability, security, and compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. The program includes processes used by SRP to monitor, assess, and enforce compliance with NERC Reliability Standards in effect within the United States and the Western Interconnection.
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Operations & Planning Department:
Directly supervises a team of engineers, analysts, and technicians to ensure SRP meets all mandatory NERC Operation & Planning (O&P) Standards.
Advises Responsible Departments on NERC O&P Standards and best practice compliance activities.
Manages NERC O&P Program compliance process enhancement projects and oversees all project plans, milestones and timelines.
Recommends courses of action for Responsible Departments to make decisions on matters that affect overall success of compliance.
Assists Responsible Departments to implement best practice compliance activities.
Analyzes policies and procedures to provide assurance of compliance with regulatory requirements.
Leads Internal Compliance Review of SRP compliance with NERC O&P Standards. Assists in the design of internal control practices and documentation needed to demonstrate compliance with NERC O&P Standards.
Interprets and communicates the interpretations of NERC O&P Standards; ensuring process integrity within compliance activities.
Mentors others to advance their knowledge and ability as compliance professionals.
Monitors regulatory activities of FERC, NERC, and WECC to assure awareness and responsiveness to the changing regulatory environment, including analyzing impact of those changes to SRP's NERC O&P Program.
Active participant with industry groups, including WECC Compliance User Group (CUG), Western Interconnection Compliance Forum (WICF), North American Transmission Forum (NATF), and RMEL.
Recommends plans to implement the NERC O&P Program strategic direction.
Also performs all of the same job duties as the staff under his/her supervision.

Minimum of 8 years cumulative and progressive professional experience.
Past experience in lead, supervisory, or management roles
Knowledge of regulatory organizations such as electric industry reliability organizations including FERC, NERC, and WCC.
Knowledge of power systems, particularly the SRP electric system
Knowledge of the SRP organization along with business policies, processes and procedures
Knowledge of industry standards, especially the NERC O&P or CIP
Familiarity with planning, development or implementation of compliance programs:
Assessment of compliance standards and impacts to SRP
Compliance processes, procedures, and systems
Documenting, standardizing, and maintaining compliance evidence
Audit processes and procedures
Discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information
Training and education awareness programs
Familiarity with information technology infrastructure, architecture, applications, systems, processes, or security
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate with all levels of the SRP organization
Strong presentation and communication skills
