We are looking for a Regulatory Permitting Specialist to join us on a full-time basis in our San Rafael, Emeryville, or Petaluma office. The successful candidate will have experience including biological resource impact assessments, compensatory mitigation planning, and regulatory permitting. Knowledge of special-status species surveys, habitat evaluation and mapping, wetland delineation, and restoration planning is preferred. In addition, the person in this role will have the following responsibilities:
Manage projects and tasks (PM and TM revenue) 80% time
Field work mainly limited to oversight roles, work driven by client needs, kick-off meetings, or field visits involving agency personnel
Assist with field work in other situations as needed, depending on staffing requirements
Provide oversight and guidance to field work completed by junior staff
Develop and maintain technical work product templates in association with the Technical Team.
Provide leadership for junior staff, in consultation with department heads, in a fashion that supports the company’s culture, mission, and values.
Track and provide updates to management on workload, backlog, and personnel issues
Encourage and lead cross-departmental collaboration to strengthen internal communications with staff throughout the organization.
Advise clients and project managers on project issues, in consultation with subject-matter experts, to build business with existing clients
Lead and support proposal efforts to generate new business

Bachelor’s degree or higher in natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field.
Two years’ experience as a regulatory permitting technician.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Access, Outlook, and Power Point; G-Suite: Email, Docs, Drive, Calendar, etc.
Knowledge of techniques, skills, equipment, procedures, and systems.
