Biologist/Clean Water Act Permitting Specialist

Tempe AZ

Logan Simpson, an environmental planning and design firm, currently seeks a full-time Biologist/Clean Water Act Permitting Specialist to work in our Tempe, Arizona office.


Candidates that possess technical expertise with environmental compliance related to biological resources and Clean Water Act Permitting are highly desired. Experience with and working knowledge of vegetation, wetland delineation, and 404/401 permitting is also preferred.


Duties include (but not limited to the following):

Assists lead technical biologist on complex projects

Conducts field surveys for threatened, endangered, and sensitive species

Assists in writing and preparing proposals and complex reports

Conducts field investigations for jurisdictional delineations for Section 404 of the Clean Water Act

Assists in the preparation of Clean Water Act permits


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Studies, or closely-related field

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of environmental regulations, especially the Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act a plus!
