GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking an experienced Air Quality and Environmental Compliance Engineer/Scientist to join our Bedford, New Hampshire office. Successful candidates will have a strong background in Air Quality and Air Pollution Control, Environmental Engineering, and Environmental Regulatory Compliance.
Preparation of emissions inventories, chemical mass balances, permit applications, emissions and monitoring reporting, compliance reporting, and regulatory applicability evaluations
Evaluation of potential air quality impacts using air quality dispersion models
Technical analysis and environmental regulatory compliance support for:
Tier 2 Chemical Inventory and Toxic Release Inventory reporting
Risk management planning and process safety management
Stormwater permitting and pollution prevention
Spill prevention control and countermeasures planning
Industrial discharge permitting and pretreatment
Development of written technical reports and plans
Working and communicating with regulatory agencies, vendors, and/or contractors
On site observation, documentation, evaluation and data collection at client facilities
Minimum of a BS in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering or scientific degree
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with project team members, regulatory agency representatives, contractors, clients, etc.
Three or more years of relevant professional experience with state and federal air programs such as PSD/NSR, Title V, MACT, NSPS and state air permitting and air toxics compliance programs
Relevant knowledge and experience with the local and regional business community, and federal, state, and local agencies in New Hampshire and Massachusetts
Experience with industrial compliance and permitting projects, including knowledge of emissions estimation techniques
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
Experience preparing technical reports that demonstrate technical and regulatory knowledge with an emphasis on high quality deliverables and work products.
Willingness and ability to develop effective working relationships among colleagues and clients to foster teamwork and successful client service
Flexibility with respect to working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet project deadlines and/or client needs
Desire and initiative to engage in professional activities, client service and personal development to build a career in environmental consulting
Professional Licensure or Registration strongly encouraged (i.e., EIT, PE, CHMM, etc.)
