Position may be based out of our Yonkers, NY or Mineola, NY offices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and file environmental permit applications and provide technical support for regulatory approvals associated with energy and real estate projects
Work in multi-disciplined team of engineers, scientists, planners and other technical professionals in assembling regulatory compliant environmental plans and studies
Perform wetland delineations, habitat assessments, vegetation surveys and site remediation tasks
Perform construction-phase erosion and sediment control inspections and permit condition compliance inspections
Prepare EAF, Expanded EA, and EIS environmental planning documentation pursuant to the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA)
Prepare phase 1’s and phase 2’s
Field inspection/oversight of projects
Assist with client maintenance and new project development
Involvement in proposal preparation and business development with key clients
Interface with environmental regulatory agencies and local government officials, as necessary
Assist with and possibly attend and participate in public meetings and hearings, asnecessary
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, urban planning, or related field required. Master’s degree highly desirable
2-5 years of relevant post-degree work experience regarding the above.
Strong technical writing and communication skills
Familiarity environmental documents and regulatory submissions associated with electric substation, distribution, and transmission projects
Familiarity with the environmental review process and the preparation of documents pursuant to the SEQRA, phase 1 and phase 2 protocols and NYSDEC requirements
Sharp attention to detail
OSHA 40-hour training preferred
Technical expertise in one or more of the following impact areas highly desirable: wetlands, surface waters and water quality, stormwater management, endangered species, noise, visual resources
Knowledge and experience of the regulatory requirements associated with Article VII of New York Public Service Law highly desirable
E/AICP or other professional licenses or certifications highly desirable
