GHD has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Compliance Specialist to be based from our Dallas or Houston, TX offices.
Working with the Air Quality and Environmental Multi-media Compliance and team, this position offers great variety of projects, and will see you involved in:
This is an opportunity to demonstrate your local knowledge and be involved in challenging projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions as a subject matter expert.
This is a client facing role for someone with a strong technical expertise in regulatory compliance and multi-media air compliance
Build a team of quality compliance professionals to support existing and new projects
Manage several projects simultaneously involving due diligence, compliance audits, permitting and facility compliance support
Perform compliance and record keeping audits and provide regulatory determinations for state and federal regulations, including Clean Air Act (CAA) (NSPS, NESHAPs, etc.), BACT, CWA/NPDES, RCRA, and SPCC
Conduct SARA TRI/Tier II reporting evaluations and prepare associated reporting forms (Form R, Tier II)
Interact with regulatory agencies to successfully process permit application packages
Prepare SPCC plans and SWPPP for construction and industrial storm water permits
Preparation of proposals and bids for projects and client engagement
Supporting the management of a variety of multi-media compliance projects to include developing efficient technical and regulatory strategies and solutions that address our clients' specific challenges and needs

What you will bring to the team
B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
5-10 years of compliance experience (including air, water, waste, storm water, and RCRA permitting, SARA reporting, SPCC, SWPPP, etc.) and environmental due diligence experience (including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments) for manufacturing and industrial sites
Knowledge of regulatory environmental requirements in Texas, Louisiana and surrounding states
Excellent technical writing skills
Data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation/comparison to environmental regulatory standards
Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials
Your experience of providing technical recommendations for bids as well as writing and crafting proposals for projects
Working on air permitting projects including new source review, PSD analysis and air dispersion modeling
Technical problem solving for air quality and multi-media compliance challenges
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training is a plus
Experience in Refinery or Petrochemical facilities is a plus
Willingness to travel
