Environmental and Sustainability Compliance Specialist

Washington DC

Eastern Research Group, Inc. seeks an Environmental and Sustainability Compliance Specialist.

 

Advance your career with a growing team of engineering and science professionals that are dedicated to improving the environmental performance of our federal government clients. This position will be full-time on site at a federal agency in Washington, DC, supporting environmental, energy, and sustainability programs. Opportunities may include the following types of work:

Support multimedia (e.g., air, water, waste) environmental compliance efforts ensuring agency policies and procedures address relevant regulations.

Assist with implementation of an environmental management system and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process for agency projects.

Support a sustainable buildings program to meet federal requirements such as energy efficiency, water efficiency, stormwater management, environmentally preferable materials, and waste management.

Review building designs and specifications to ensure construction and renovation projects comply with environmental and sustainability requirements.

Support sustainable acquisition and electronics stewardship programs to meet federal environmentally preferable purchasing requirements.

Promote energy and water management programs to reduce energy and water use and costs and track greenhouse gas emissions.

Conduct communications and outreach activities to meet and promote the goals of the above programs.

 

Qualifications:

Current Top Secret clearance required.

4 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering or science). Minimum 3.0 GPA.

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to clearly organize and synthesize project findings and recommendations to a diverse group of stakeholders.

Strong time management skills. Able to manage and prioritize numerous concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking. Able to develop high-quality, client-ready deliverables.

Self-starter and team player. Able to foster collaboration.
