Manager of Environmental Compliance

Job Summary

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) has an opening for a Manager-Environmental Compliance based at the Cayce Campus located in Cayce, SC.

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day tactical and strategic operations of the DESC Electric Operations Environmental Compliance Department for multi-media environmental programs and associated activities, to include air compliance & Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems, land, water, chemical process safety and emergency preparedness & response (including emergency response activities associated with storm damage). Duties will include managing staff and resources, scheduling oversight, leadership, coaching, mentoring, training, performance management and other human resources-related activities. Other duties will include managing staff and resources involved in the day-to-day operations of Electric Operations (Electric Distribution, Fleet, Power Delivery and Power Generation). This position will provide oversight and guidance for Electric Operations environmental activities to ensure compliance with environmental permits, regulations and corporate requirements. This position will be responsible for strategic activities which include operational planning, budgeting, aggressively identifying areas of non-compliance or areas where improvements are needed and proposing solutions. This role will collaborate with all levels of key contributors, and fulfill compliance monitoring and oversight functions for, operations, maintenance, electrical, instrumentation & controls, local environmental compliance, engineering, construction, lake management and corporate support services staff. This role will perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in an Environmental or related field and seven (7) years of environmental or related experience. Candidates must have a thorough knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations, strong negotiation skills, conflict resolution skills, project coordination skills and the ability to influence others. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills and must have strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and analytical (mathematical) skills. Additional qualifications include a thorough knowledge of computers and computer software such as Microsoft Office, ability to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization in easy to understand terms and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

 

Basic Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in an Environmental or related field and seven (7) years of environmental or related experience.
