Eco Tour Interpretive Guides

Durango CO

Are you physically fit, safety conscious, comfortable working at heights, and do you have an outgoing and personable disposition? If so, you may have what it takes to work at Soaring Treetop Adventures, the world’s largest zip line course, rated #1 on TripAdvisor.com!  Seeking applicants for Ecology Tour Interpretive Guides (Eco Rangers) for the summer season.

Eco Rangers are responsible for educating guests about the natural history of our remote property within an Old Growth forest in the San Juan Mountains as they participate in our zip line course. Between spans, guests learn from our Eco Rangers about the natural environment of Southwest Colorado.  The ecology tour runs in tandem with our ziplining, and Eco Rangers work side by side with Sky Rangers (zip line tour guides).  We want guests to understand the importance of protecting the environment and to promote a clean environment. You’ll spend time researching and obtaining program information.  A background in Natural Resources and Interpretation, Environmental Science, Outdoor Recreation, Biology, Botany, Ecology, or any other sciences preferred.

Familiarity with climbing gear and First Aid/CPR certifications are a plus.

The job is physically challenging, so you need to be very physically fit, and it requires 100% attention to safety, so you need to be detail-oriented. Sky Rangers are also responsible for daily course inspections, harness inspections, and course and equipment maintenance.

Guides are required to maintain a clean-cut, professional appearance, and need to be comfortable with public speaking, working at heights, standing for long hours, and be physically fit.   For more information please visit www.soaringcolorado.com.
