The Maria Mitchell Association is a science and history focused non-profit located on Nantucket Island off the coast of Cape Cod, MA.
Seeking to hire a full-time, year round Education Coordinator to help manage our Award Winning Summer Discovery Programs and to assist with the development and implementation of other educational initiatives throughout the school year. This position reports to the MMA’s Director of Education.

Environmental Education Interns and Aquatics/Field Supervisor
Capitalizing on the natural setting of Nantucket, interns gain valuable experience developing and implementing nature and science-based lessons for children ages 3.5 - 16 years for our award winning Summer Discovery Programs. Program activities include snorkeling, kayaking, beach explorations, live animal programs, and more. Other responsibilities include assisting with special events and other facets of the Association’s operations.
We are seeking to fill 13 environmental education positions and 1 person to also serve as an Aquatics/Field Supervisor.
Option 1: May 27 – August 17 – $3000/summer
Option 2: May 27 – August 24 – $3000/summer plus $500 for extra week
Both options include dorm style housing.
Aquatics/Field Supervisor: $3500 plus off campus housing– May 20 –August 24
