River Ridge Environmental Education Program at John Knox Center
Located on a 143-acre, 3-point peninsula overlooking Watts Bar Lake with four miles of coastline. The Center is about 20 minutes from Kingston (where you'll find grocery, bank, gym, etc.) and 45 minutes from Knoxville.
Are you interested in teaching hands-on classes in team building, ecology, conservation, outdoor recreation and environmental education in a faith-based setting? River Ridge Environmental Education Program (RREEP) Program Specialists will assist with all aspects of the environmental education program including activity area supervision (low/high ropes, challenge course, archery and nature center), teaching, and hosting guest groups. RREEP offers about 30 classes total in three categories: academic, team building and outdoor recreation. Training is provided for all classes. A Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science or related field is preferred but not required. Applicants must be a professing Christian and have the ability to articulate your faith. Positions are available during the fall (September to November) and spring (mid-March/April to May, with a possible extension through November for those with exceptional hospitality skills). During the summer months, you will work primarily with guest groups providing hospitality services and facilitating their program needs. In addition, you will supervise various program areas for the summer camp program. Pay: Seasonal Positions: Spring season runs from beginning of March to the end of May. We have two Naturalist positions open for the Summer season. The Fall season runs from early September to the end of November. Naturalists receive $225 week + room/board.

River Ridge at the John Knox Center is located 45 min. from Knoxville (closest big city), Kingston is 20 min. away - bank, grocery, gym, etc. We are 1 ½ hours from Great Smoky Mountains. We are located on 143 acres, 3 point peninsula overlooking Watts Bar Lake which is really the TN River with 4 miles of coastline. River Ridge and the John Knox Center are accredited by the American Camp Association. This program is operated by the John Knox Center and run by the Presbytery of East TN.
