Responsibilities: Given objectives set by the Director of Education, is directly responsible for all education program registrations and payments offered by Riverbanks Zoo & Garden. The Education Services Assistant will be the front lines of communication with individuals and groups attending an education program and will be responsible for:
Accurate and timely communications via telephone and e-mail to program participants, group leaders (teachers, scout leaders, etc.) and parents.
Utilizing various software to maintain detailed records related to Education activities including financial and program reports.
Providing a friendly first impression to interested parties.
Remaining current in Education Program offerings.
Providing administrative and secretarial support in the daily operations of the Education Department and others as needed.
Education and Experience: High School diploma required. Associate’s degree in a related field preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a high standard for service.
The ideal candidate will possess a love for learning and an eagerness to work with a fast-moving team. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate excellent time management, confidentiality and attention to detail. Must be able to remain flexible and maintain a positive attitude through seasonal fluctuations in workload and related tasks.
