The Community Service Federal Work-Study Program (CSFWS) is seeking applicants for SUMMER 2021 Assistant Naturalist CSFWS Positions at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.
Description of Position Duties: Assistant Naturalists get to lead games/activities and sing songs along the trail while providing additional support to the group leader at the environmentally based summer camp at Shaver’s Creek. Training begins in early June; camp and additional training opportunities continue through mid-August.
Requirement: Summer 2021 FWS eligibility (2020/21 and 2021/22 FAFSAs must be on file for consideration). Preference will be given to qualified students majoring in the following disciplines: ED, SCI ED, RPTM, Ag SCI.
Position Timeline: Applications currently being accepted. Interviews begin mid-November. Hiring early/mid-spring semester. Remote trainings begin mid-April. On-site work/training to begin May/June 2021.
Students who received a Federal Work Study award have the opportunity to obtain a job and perform related duties either on campus, or remotely, if possible and at the discretion of the employer. Students applying for Federal Work Study positions should clarify expectations with their potential employer regarding either on campus/in person or remote work arrangements. A Federal Work Study award does not guarantee a job position is available. Current federal guidance does not permit students in the 2020-21 academic year to be paid for hours not worked, even if due to COVID-19.
