The position will coordinate with the Baker Institute Communications Director to ensure consistency with communications policies, procedures and strategy across the Baker Institute.

CASR has an opening for a Senior Energy Policy Advisor. The position will support the Energy Policy functional area of the Team. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual with expertise working in energy-focused regulatory and legislative matters and with a wide range of stakeholders including utilities, government staff, advocacy organizations, industry associations, and community organizations. The role will coordinate citywide energy policy initiatives and is a key member of the CASR energy team, reporting to the Manager of Mobility & Energy Transition.

Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Provide leadership and technical expertise to develop long range and short-term energy policy planning initiatives and priorities that equitably decarbonize Denver’s energy systems.

Manage the development and implementation of performance criteria for Denver’s energy policy goals and objectives. Prepare interim progress updates and comprehensive annual reports pertaining to Denver’s attainment of its energy policy goals and overall accomplishments.

Lead Denver’s involvement on relevant regulatory proceedings such as at the Public Utilities Commission. Coordinate input from other staff and agencies, appear as an expert witness at regulatory and legislative proceedings, give public presentations, and participate in negotiations with Xcel Energy and other stakeholders.

Serve as an expert resource across CASR disciplines by performing legislative and/or policy analysis of issues and formulate approaches and plans to address identified issues. Brief management on concerns and issues by providing information required for decision making, such as for PUC proceedings, Xcel Energy programs, state regulatory policies, and legislation.

Supervise staff, manage annual operating budgets, develop requests for proposals, and manage contracts within the Energy Policy functional area.

Communicate with representatives of various city agencies, community and business groups, the public, media organizations, and other stakeholders in a professional and clear manner.

Lead technical working groups as part of Denver’s Energy Future Collaboration with Xcel Energy.

Position Summary:

The Manager, Market Development & Public Policy will lead EVgo’s policy engagement with public utilities commissions, state legislatures, state energy offices and state departments of transportation (DOTs). The American Flood Coalition is a nonpartisan group of more than 350 elected officials, local leaders, military groups, and businesses that have come together to advocate for national solutions to sea level rise and flooding. Project Manager, New York State Affairs

The Project Manager for New York State Affairs reports to the New York State Director and is responsible for the implementation of effective policy and advocacy strategies that support EDF’s program efforts in NY. Lawrence Berkeley National Lab’s (LBNL) Energy Analysis & Environmental Impacts Division has an opening for a Policy Researcher to join the team.

The Energy Efficiency for Development (EE4D.org) program of the Sustainable Energy & Environmental Systems Department provides technical resources and expert advice to support partner countries in advancing energy efficiency strategies and achieving a more resilient and sustainable economic development. EE4D assists countries with policy, planning, and deployment support for energy efficient development and smart technologies uptake and works in South Africa, Mexico, Uganda and Ecuador. As part of EE4D and a new partnership with USAID Power Africa, Berkeley Lab will significantly expand its collaboration with partners in South Africa to accelerate the country’s ambition to reduce GHGs whilst incorporating just transition principles. The EE4D program is seeking an officer to contribute to the implementation of these collaborations.

In this exciting role, the Energy/Environmental Policy Researcher (EEPR1) will apply methods of conducting energy, economic, market, and/or technical research that contribute to the development of energy/environmental policies, focusing on demand-side management programs. Working with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, the EEPR1 will conduct research including gathering and processing data, performing analyses, and developing advanced analytical and modeling tools. Staff Attorney

For more than 20 years, Socially Responsible Agriculture Project (SRAP) has served as a
mobilizing force to collaborate with communities to protect themselves from the damages
caused by industrial livestock operations and to advocate for a food system built on
regenerative practices, justice, democracy, and resilience.

Our team includes technical experts, independent family farmers, and rural residents who have
faced the threats of factory farms in their communities. When asked for help, SRAP offers free
support, providing communities with the knowledge and skills to protect their right to clean
water, air, and soil and to a healthy, just, and vibrant future.

Position Overview:
SRAP’s Staff Attorney will work closely with the SRAP Senior Counsel and SRAP Staff from
the organization’s four core programs: Community Support; Food and Farm Network; Water
Rangers; and Contract Grower Transition. The Staff Attorney will provide direct support and
guidance, as well as informational and educational resources, to SRAP staff and communities
for advocacy purposes. This position does not involve litigation, but a working knowledge of
evidence, discovery, civil procedure, and administrative law is essential. The Staff Attorney will

Work Environment: Position is fully remote with occasional weekend/evening
hours and travel expected. This is a full-time, exempt position. Applicants must
reside in the United States.

Compensation: Annual salary of $60,000 to $70,000, dependent upon
experience. Benefits include fully covered health, vision, dental, and life

Clean Energy & Climate Attorney

Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) is seeking a full-time attorney to join our team working to protect New England’s environment for all people. The Attorney will work with CLF’s Clean Energy and Climate Change program and will be based in CLF’s Montpelier, VT office with the opportunity for remote and flexible work within New England. The Attorney’s work will focus on legal and policy issues in Vermont. The position may be hired as a Senior Attorney or Staff Attorney depending on years of experience.

What you’ll do

The Attorney will be a key player in helping us achieve our mission. The Attorney will work independently and as part of state-based and regional teams and coalitions advocating for a just and clean energy future. In this role, the Attorney will both lead and support high-impact, cutting-edge advocacy efforts in the energy, transportation and buildings sectors as part of an over-arching strategy to tackle the climate crisis while centering environmental justice.

The Attorney will:

Devise and execute legal strategies for achieving CLF’s advocacy goals, including through litigation;
Develop relationships, build coalitions, and work collaboratively with community and advocacy groups, public officials, and business interests;
Build and sustain alliances and coalitions among impacted and allied entities;
Represent CLF in regulatory, and administrative proceedings;
Draft public comment letters on projects, policies, and plans;
Advocate for priority bills before each state’s legislature, including oral and written testimony;
Advocate before Vermont’s Public Utility Commission and engage with the regional independent electric system operator, ISO-NE;
Engage in public outreach efforts on transportation, climate, and energy-related advocacy initiatives;
Contribute to CLF’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion;
Write public educational materials, articles, and opinion pieces and communicate about advocacy work through media outlets and social media; and
Contribute to the health of our community and the smooth operation of our organization.

What you’ll need

We are looking for a motivated and mature self-starter who can work independently and as a productive member of a talented and diverse group of advocates dedicated to CLF’s mission and distributed across New England.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

At least 2 years of experience practicing law for Staff Attorney I, 5 years for Staff Attorney II and 7 years for Senior Attorney, preferably in the areas of environmental and/or energy law and preferably in Vermont.
An active license and good standing in Vermont, or an active license and good standing in another state and willingness to become licensed in Vermont.
Demonstrated experience working with state and federal environmental, energy, and climate laws and a strong grasp of political systems and regulatory proceedings.
Significant litigation experience in state and federal courts, before regulatory agencies or public utility commissions, or comparable experience.
Strong analytic abilities, oral and written communication skills, and a commitment to environmental justice advocacy.
Strong commitment to CLF’s mission, including its commitment to diversity, equity and
Coalition and network building skills, including cultural competence and ability to communicate and collaborate within diverse and multicultural communities.
A capacity to develop and/or enhance expertise in relevant technical or policy areas.
