Environmental/ Regulatory Specialist (mid-level)

InterAgency is seeking a mid-level Environmental/Regulatory Specialist to join our growing environmental practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on multiple major civil infrastructure projects in the Washington, DC area for Federal and municipal clients. Projects range from preliminary planning to project implementation. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: coordinating with Federal, State, and Local regulators, preparing permit applications, supporting the preparation of NEPA documents, as well as assisting with the development and negotiation of easements, rights-of-entry, construction staging, and temporary land-leases on behalf of the project owner. The Environmental/Regulatory Specialist will work closely with project proponents to facilitate clear communication between the project team and external parties. This position requires the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and the skills to effectively interact with regulatory staff and clients.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

• Coordinate with stakeholders in proximity to project affected area
• Identify permits required and develop timeline for approvals to keep project on schedule
• Develop content as needed to support Project messaging

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, Planning, or Natural Resource Management
• Experience: 5+ years experience in environmental consulting and/or permitting
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in both collaborative team settings and while working independently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with large scale construction projects in the Washington Metropolitan Area
• NEPA and/or Clean Water Act experience
• Working knowledge of Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act, and other Federal, State, and Local environmental laws and regulations
• Preexisting relationships with regulators at NPS, US Army Corps of Engineers,
DC/Virginia/Maryland

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

• 40 hours/week
