The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) Engineering and Technology (E&T) East team is seeking a Mid-Level Energy and Conservation Specialist in North Charleston, South Carolina.

This position will be on site in North Charleston, South Carolina to support the local F&AM E&T team. The successful candidate will also provide a combination of onsite and remote support to the teams in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania and Huntsville, Alabama. Up to 25% travel may be required.

Position Responsibilities:

Validate appropriate actions are taking place in accordance with the Conservation Best Practices guide published by Global Enterprise Sustainability (GES) and provide feedback for potential modifications

Review utility bills for accuracy, acting as appropriate when billing or usage exceeds expected or planned values, including a root-cause review and action plan if necessary

Identify possible building and infrastructure projects that will reduce energy usage, quantify those benefits, and partner with finance focals inside and outside of GREF for possible funding streams

Work to identify other non-trivial improvements for energy reduction through system modification or replacement, system improvement or optimization, system utilization or cycling, or other behavioral and utilization modifications

Forecast future energy usage at Boeing South Carolina, Ridley Park and Huntsville

Assist with funding forecasts for sustainability projects outside the East region

Share knowledge to replicate best practices and find solutions.

Promote energy, water and solid waste conservation by developing communication awareness tools (e.g., videos, posters, job-aids, articles) and support program goals with users in order to achieve conservation goals and metrics

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Sustainability Analyst

General Purpose:

The Sustainability Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data for the organization, assisting with environmental improvement projects, and supporting various sustainability projects and programs. Additionally, this position will support sustainability value creation through cross-functional engagement and demonstrating the Cooperative’s progress by regularly providing performance data reports.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Gather, analyze, and monitor sustainability data, providing trend reports and recommendations as requested
Contribute to the Cooperative’s reporting framework including CDP Climate Change, KPI dashboard, executive updates, customer reports, and annual social responsibility report

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Financial Analyst assists the Environmental Sustainability team with key carbon emissions reporting functions including calculating the company’s carbon emissions, developing and maintaining the reporting tools necessary to support environmental sustainability initiatives, and effectively measuring performance.

The analyst will assist with a combination of financial reporting and operational accounting with a focus on HCA’s third-party utility bill payment system, Capturis.

The analyst will be responsible for reviewing utility trends and researching outliers, providing customer service to the field operators, and ensuring the integrity of the Capturis data. This role will include analytics of Capturis data to help develop KPIs to better monitor performance and to ensure that the usage and costs are in line with prediction.

Position Summary

As a valuable leader on the Stadium team, this position is responsible for the safe, efficient, sustainable and reliable physical operation and maintenance of Bank of America Stadium, Atrium Health Dome and Atrium Health Performance Park. Reporting to the Chief Venues Officer, the Head of Stadium Engineering & Sustainability will act as a leader in operational efficiencies, innovation, and excellence to create the ultimate athlete, employee and fan experience at all Tepper Sports & Entertainment (TSE) venues & events.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare and develop the 5 year Stadium modernization plan that addresses aging asset replacement, modernization of all building systems and aligned sustainability plan
Provide leadership to departmental teams and activities that operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, establishing a culture of safety, customer service, compliance, quality & sustainability
Lead stadium engineering & facility system operations and the maintenance of all TSE facilities including all associated building systems.
Lead all aspects of the scheduling and deployment of maintenance staff and contractors in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and physical: chiller plants, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, food & beverage equipment.

· Request sustainability data (e.g., emissions, water, waste, etc.) from various stakeholders on regular basis. Analyze sustainability data throughout the year to ensure accurate reporting of data and follow up on any data variances to address data issues timely.

· Train data owners on use of data collection tool and background of various data streams

· Assist with responding to data owners and stakeholder questions.

2. Data Reporting

· Support with development and review of annual sustainability data for external disclosures (e.g., GHG emissions, SASB Index, etc.).

· Support external ESG Assessment responses by providing information on business practices and any necessary data.

· Research sustainability reporting requirements and developments, provide recommendations on applicability and importance to GATX.

· Document data changes from previous years to support internal review process prior to publishing.

· Develop internal and external sustainability information, presentations and communications.

· Assist with special projects, audits, and third-party validation efforts

3. Data Process Development

· Develop process and controls for effective data management.

· Building and implementing internal controls/checklists/procedures to support an effective and consistent sustainability reporting program.

· Assist in completion of internal validation and potential third-party assurance efforts.

· Work closely with data owners to identify data automation opportunities and work with Data Analytics team to build automated data systems.

4. Sustainability Initiatives & Continuous Improvement

· Lead GATX initiative to continuously improve sustainability of our operations by developing and supporting projects aimed to meet sustainability objectives & goals.

· Engage GATX facilities in the development, implementation, adoption and validation of facility-specific or corporate ESG improvement initiatives and/or projects.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications):

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., environmental science / sustainability, data analytics, math, engineering, or a related field.)
Work experience within a manufacturing environment or function preferred.
Intermediate computer skills
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
PowerBI preferred.

Sustainability Analyst

HLW is searching for a Sustainability Analyst to join our global Sustainability team, BEYOND in the NYC or LA office. This person will be supporting sustainability projects with a focus on rating systems including but not limited to LEED, WELL, WELL H-S, Fitwel, and Zero Carbon. This position is an opportunity for a motivated individual to work hand-in-hand with design teams on both new construction and commercial interiors to influence how projects are designed in order to decarbonize, maximize wellness, and repair ecology. This work will include project certifications, ESG alignment, and custom sustainability solutions.

Job Responsibilities

General Responsibilities: HLW Knowledge & Understanding
Perform within expectations of hours and fee set out in project contract.
Understand and responsibly track and report hours.
Work with internal team to help accomplish goals of the HLW Sustainability Action Plan.
Participate in the HLW internal sustainability team, BEYOND Alliance.

Project Related – All Phases
Project-specific research (materials, construction, site, water, embodied carbon, biophilic design, and indoor environmental quality).
Review of drawings and specifications for compliance with project sustainability goals Evaluate energy conservation measures and provide innovative sustainability and energy efficiency solutions.
Support other BEYOND team staff with online portal project administration for all certification system administration (LEED, WELL, WELL H-S, Fitwel, Zero Carbon, etc).
Review drawings, equipment submittals, architectural specifications against high performance goals and sustainability certification criteria.
Present professional recommendations internally and externally; graphically and in written form.
Respond to quickly changing project schedules and demands.
Communicate complex issues and timelines with large project teams.

Role Qualifications
3 or more years of professional sustainable design and administration experience including LEED Online, and the WELL Portal.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related discipline.
Strong communication, graphic, and verbal presentation skills.
Strong time management and attention to detail.
Versatility with computer graphics software including but not limited to Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe CS Programs, MS Office Suite; especially Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
Willingness and/or demonstrated participation in Marketing and Business Development for the firm.
Superb organization and time-management skills.
LEED AP with specialty (ID+C or BD+C) accreditation preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in sustainability, technologies, and consistent high performance.
Desire for growth and diversity in the field of sustainability.
Thorough knowledge of currently available sustainability certification systems.
Strong understanding of mechanical system design, construction documents, and ability to interpret design intent put forth in working drawings.
