Job Summary

Oversees development and completion of utility-scale, renewable energy projects. Facilitates project management requirements, including scope of work, scheduling, estimating, engineering, and project construction specifications. Ensures completion of installation, testing, commissioning into service, and project closeout. Supports community engagement efforts in collaboration with other customer and community facing groups within the company as needed. Works with teams to ensure successful project completion. Key Accountabilities

Facilitates team of specialists who provide project schedule, cost estimates and construction engineering specifications for capital projects
Ensures completion of installation, testing, commissioning into service and project closeout
Oversees project expenditures and cost-effective procurement of labor, equipment, and materials; coordinates with authorized company representatives in conducting bid meetings and reviews, supplier selections and evaluations, and determining contracting strategy aligned with labor utilization strategies
Provides daily management of on-site construction activities, working with the general contractor and/or multiple contractors and service providers; ensures timely completion of work within approved budget
Communicates project status to all stakeholders, including leadership levels, and engages stakeholders in decisions to ensures a clear understanding of direction and expectations
Works with leadership to evaluate conditions and execute solutions to control project risk
Ensures compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements, including documentation and record keeping requirements
Supports community engagement efforts to achieve project outcomes, including direct engagement in community meetings as needed

Senior Director of Project Development

New Leaf Energy seeks a Senior Director of Project Development to drive our solar and energy storage pipeline in the West. Senior Program Manager, Energy Codes and Standards

NAHB is seeking a building industry professional to join its advocacy efforts to improve the performance and advance the affordability of residential construction in the United States. The primary focus of this position is on energy solutions, green construction practices, and sustainability in single-family and multifamily buildings. The position offers a unique opportunity to work at the nexus of policy, advocacy, and building technology across various industry forums and engage with a broad spectrum of industry stakeholders.

This individual will be part of a team developing and implementing NAHB’s strategy for energy codes and standards across ICC, ASHRAE, and other forums. Responsibilities also include codes and standards focusing on zero net energy and reductions in emissions. Consumer Reports is looking for a Director, Product Sustainability that will be responsible for overseeing CR’s sustainability research and testing program of products, goods, and services within the Testing and Insights division.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Climate Policy and working closely with the Sr. Director responsible for Offshore Oil & Gas and the Director, Climate and Plastics Initiative, the Director will help advance Ocean Conservancy’s campaign to achieve a rapid, responsible, and just transition to 100% Clean Ocean Energy by 2050. The Director will lead the organization’s effort to secure needed reforms and other enabling conditions to accelerate responsible offshore wind deployment in the U.S. S/he will also finalize an assessment of other marine renewable energy technologies and an advocacy strategy to support targeted policies to facilitate research and responsible development and deployment of those technologies.

With respect to offshore wind, advocacy strategies to support enabling conditions will include national and regional approaches to financial incentives and disincentives, biodiversity conservation and protection, supply chain development, labor and workforce issues, coastal and marine spatial planning (CMSP), and research and development of technological solutions. Work to accelerate responsible offshore wind will include a heavy emphasis on the role of CMSP and administrative efforts to advance a U.S. Sustainable Ocean Plan. This work will cover strategies to support federal funding for, and regional implementation of, the National Ocean Policy, as well as engagement and cultivation of stakeholders to support CMSP. In this effort, the Director, Marine Renewable Energy will represent Ocean Conservancy and coordinate with several working groups and coalitions to advance common goals. S/he will supervise team members and consultants working on the renewable energy and CMSP portfolios, oversee logistics relating to internal program management (assisting in budget preparation and review, work planning) and assist in ensuring continued funding for the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Ocean Energy activities.

Finally, the Director, Renewable Energy plays a key role in working with the government relations and communications teams to develop, coordinate, and implement strategies to achieve Clean Ocean Energy program and organizational goals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with the Senior Policy Analyst for Renewable Energy, Clean Ocean Energy team members, Government Relations (including International Government Relations) and Digital & Communications staff to develop and implement strategies to: accelerate responsible offshore wind other marine renewable energy (MRE) technologies deployment in the U.S.
Drives strategies to achieve effective public policy supporting offshore wind planning and permitting, including those identified in Ocean Conservancy’s Policy to Power report.
Lead an outreach strategy for and meet with agency officials, elected officials, industry, Tribes, local communities, other ocean users and NGO stakeholders to garner support for responsible offshore wind, other MRE, and related policy initiatives.
Collaborate with peer non-profit organizations and other partners, including providing a leadership role in strategy development of coalitions. Work in partnership with Ocean Conservancy’s government relations experts, to develop and advance federal Congressional engagement strategies for coalitions and partnerships.
Represents Ocean Conservancy at renewable energy, climate or other related events and meetings, in writing and through interviews and speaking engagements.
Supports Ocean Conservancy’s justice, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts, including by proactively incorporating the perspectives of historically marginalized and underserved communities in renewable energy policy
Supervises work and performance of Senior Policy Analyst, Renewable Energy and outside consultants as needed.
Works with the Resource Development/Foundations team to ensure grant proposals and reports are completed in an accurate, compelling, and timely manner.
Tracks monthly financial statements and helps prepare annual program budget.

COMPENSATION

Ocean Conservancy is committed to equity in its pay practices and posts expected hiring ranges for each of its positions. Salary minimum is $98,262; salary midpoint is $144,509. The midpoint represents the market rate for a position, and a fully experienced employee may be paid at this level. Required Qualifications:

Minimum of one year experience working in land-use planning, public policy, local municipal government or similar field.
Bachelor degree in urban planning, public policy, or similar.

Preference for demonstrated skills in ArcGIS.

Sustainability Programming Coordinator

Penn State’s Sustainability Institute (SI) is seeking an energetic and innovative entry-level sustainability Programming Coordinator to manage, implement, and help design existing and new student- and public-facing programming that advances understanding of and engagement with sustainability.

SI serves as a shared resource for all Penn State units to help institutionalize sustainability into their teaching, research, student engagement, community and alumni engagement, and operations and to help bring sustainability to communities across Pennsylvania as part of Penn State’s land grant mission. We adopt an expansive definition of sustainability based upon the Global Sustainable Development Goals that aims for social, economic, and environmental sustainability for all. This Sustainability Programming Coordinator position will be responsible for the implementation of many of SI’s existing signature public and campus programs, including, but not limited to:

The Colloquium on the Environment

The Intersections film series

The Sustainability Showcase workshops

The Student Sustainability Summit

The Commonwealth Campus Sustainability Forums

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Collaborating with SI staff, interns, and partners on developing the goals, themes, and design of the programming;

Recruiting and curating diverse speakers, films, and workshops;

Managing contracts and University reporting procedures for payments and event/speaker management;

Arranging facility and travel details for programming; overseeing the logistics of event operations, including technical operations for hybrid and remote events;

Managing event registration and attendance tracking;

Representing the SI at public programming;

Collecting and analyzing data about program impact;

Ensuring compliance with all University guidelines and regulations for programming;

Supervising an intern to help with programming; and

Coordinating with SI communications staff and interns on programming promotions and marketing.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for developing and fostering relationships with campus and community partners around programming initiatives and for identifying new synergies around programming. The person in this position will also have an opportunity to develop new programming that advances the Sustainability Institute’s strategic goals and engages with our targeted audiences of Penn State students, faculty/staff, alumni, and/or the public.

Professional development opportunities and mentorship will be provided for this position to serve as a career springboard for those interested in fields in sustainability; educational programming; event management; communications; community engagement; and/or higher education.

This is a limited term position, funded for one year from start date, with the potential to renew for an additional year. The position is located at University Park with only occasional minimal travel to Commonwealth Campuses as needed. Occasional night and weekend hours will be required. A flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work may be considered. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

Education and experience:

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree plus one year of related experience (volunteer, intern, summer, and student group leadership can count towards experience), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver’s license required, as occasional driving to events may be required.

some experience with graphic design programs (e.g. Canva or Adobe suite);

skills and interest in data management/analysis; and/or

experience building collaborations across different interest groups.
