Position Summary:

This regional role in North America for both Nuts and Spices business has dual reporting to the Head of Sustainability for Nuts and Head of Sustainability for Spices. The role is focused on playing the sustainability functional partner to the sales and marketing team in North America. The position offers strategic guidance on sustainability-related topics, such as developing global strategic alliances and communicating with international donors, Nuts and Spices customers, and stakeholders to advance ofi sustainability strategy Choices for Change as well as individual product sustainability strategies such as Spices Sustainability Strategy, Cashew Trail and Almond Trail. It also provides crucial direction on customer communication, and aligning customer sustainability demands with ofi sustainability vision. The role involves collaborating with origins and the North America marketing offices to boost sales of sustainable nuts and spices.

Position Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement in North America

Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing expert guidance on sustainability initiatives.
Develop and implement systematic sustainability plans with key customers in NA. Co-Create customer led sustainability programs together with the Customer sustainability teams and internal program execution teams.
Act as a primary point of contact for sustainability-related matters.
Drive sustainable sales growth, by aligning customer needs with our Nuts and Spices strategy.
Provide strategic recommendations based on North American client requirements to enhance our sustainability approach.
Liaise among Customer, Sales/Marketing, and Sustainability execution internal teams to push for sustainable commercial initiatives aligned with ofi’s framework/targets
Identify sustainability needs from customers and determine portfolio of solutions which ofi can use to commercialize
Develop and update, in collaboration with relevant teams, ofi marketing / sales “toolkit” regarding sustainability (customer presentations, marketing materials, etc.)
Develop and implement systems to track and report “value” over time
Define standards to maintain and report ofi overview of commercialization of sustainable products to customers

Stakeholder Engagement:

Participate in strategic discussions with influential stakeholders, including industry associations, NGOs, and government agencies, aiming to leverage additional resources to finance sustainability activities.
Map and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as donors, funding institutions.
Maintain the relationship with multi-stakeholder platforms in North America.
Represent ofi in conferences, international panels and expert meetings about sustainability in Nuts and Spices in North America.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Business Management, Environmental Health Sciences, Sustainability Management, or related field is required

• 5 years of sustainability and/or commercialization experience required

• 3 years’ experience in the Agricultural industry strongly desired

• Relevant knowledge on priority sustainability areas like human rights, livelihoods, climate and regenerative agriculture, as well as knowledge around preconditions to drive impact like traceability, supplier engagement and data/insights.

• A deep and broad understanding of delivering on sustainability strategy within a high-growth business-oriented environment

• Have solid ESG and sustainability networks and know when and how to access external and specialist expertise

• Have a good understanding of communicating and engaging internal and external stakeholders on sustainability activities

The pay for this role in the state of California ranges from $101,000 – 130,000 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.

Sustainability Specialist

Nature of Work

Provide specialized support for policies and practices related to energy, climate change, resiliency, and the environment for internal City operations, and the community to advance the goals and objectives of the City’s sustainability initiatives.

In response to the federal Inflation Reduction Act, the Sustainability Office is seeking and has received multi-year grant funding to launch a scalable lower income home retrofit program to increase clean and energy affordability and extreme heat resiliency. This work will be accomplished using an equity lens to build workforce capacity in the energy transition, homeowner self-advocacy, and alternative finance options. Many of the duties and responsibilities described below will be applied to this project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Identifies, monitors, and measures City government sustainability targets and metrics, and collaborates with other departments and community partners to accomplish various goals and objectives; works to implement sustainable practices that create resiliency, greenhouse gas emissions, pollution prevention, waste reduction, conservation of natural resources, energy efficient strategies, and environmentally sound purchasing policies and their relationship with equity.

Prepares and presents various special and recurring reports to communicate strategies, progress, efficiency, and performance metrics.

Determines, develops, and implements resiliency goals and objectives; identifies and provides measurable outputs to ensure the City can adapt to natural and human caused strain and shock; implements targeted strategies to increase the resiliency of vulnerable populations within the City.

The Senior Analyst, Sustainability will support Sustainability Project Managers. The position is a hybrid position with in-office presence expected at our NYC location.

The Senior Analyst, Sustainability will be involved in high-profile green projects – locally, nationally, and internationally – with the opportunity to work with major real estate developers, award-winning design firms, and top tier construction companies. The Senior Analyst will also be a technically proficient team player integrated into a team of talented SOCOTEC professionals who have completed over 500 LEED projects worldwide, at the forefront of energy and materials innovation, and have been actively involved in the U.S. Green Building Council since its inception.

This position has a strong opportunity for advancement. Tasks and responsibilities will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:

LEED GA is required. LEED AP or WELL AP with specialty designation is highly desirable;
Relevant experience in sustainability certifications, documentation, and service lines (LEED, WELL, ESG, life cycle analysis, decarbonization, etc);
Experience documenting LCA for LEED and with OneClick LCA tools is highly desirable;
Excellent analytical abilities;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Strong organizational skills with ability to independently manage multiple tasks while maintaining focus and attention to detail;
Proficient in Microsoft software, particularly Excel;
Basic AutoCAD or Revit skills a plus.

Renewable Energy Consultant

This is a full-time role for in-home presentations as a Renewable Energy Consultant at Nova Renewables. The Consultant will be responsible for tasks such as analyzing renewable energy options, specializing in solar energy, and providing expertise in the energy industry. Appointments are preset and confirmed by our call center. The Consultant will be able to deliver tailored solutions for each homeowner, qualify, finalize project paperwork and generate referral business. We offer solar panel and battery installations through our partner Nexus Energy, combined with smart thermostats, LED lighting, insulation, attic fans etc, to help reduce and offset residential energy consumption. This is a commission-only position to start.

Lead Sustainability Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Technical project and design reviews of heavy industrial manufacturing infrastructure systems including but not limited to boiler/steam/hot water systems, chilled water systems, potable water systems, compressed air systems, and HVAC to optimize and provide the most efficient, reliable and value to our customers (sites).
As a key member of the sustainability team, provide experience (including training) in executing all appropriate engineering assessments including LCC (life cycle costs), sustainability metrics and BVOA (best value options analysis) for all relevant capital projects.
Responsible for identifying ideas and opportunities that will drive cost effective sustainable designs and customer value from the concept phase of the CAPEX project.
Partner with Site leaders with the creation and revision of equipment standards and specifications, RFPs, and overall system selection criteria.
Provide Engineering expertise surrounding brown and greenfield site expansions with the deployment of Southwire sustainability design (LEED or equivalent) guidelines.
Collaboration and Communication with key stakeholders to deliver value to our customers (CSCs and manufacturing sites). Connect and build strength with other functions – being a key partner to corporate engineering, operations, and EHS
Responsible for creating capital projects from concept (project charter) to execution, including the associated financial acumen and managing bid documents/processes.

Utility Forester Intern

Great Lakes Energy is seeking two temporary Utility Forester Interns to join our team for the summer: one will be located in the Boyne City service area and the other will be located in the Newaygo service area. This opportunity is ideal for a college student pursuing a degree in a related field, who has a genuine interest in forestry and the electric utility industry. The position will work alongside our experienced forestry team to assist in planning vegetation work around power lines.

As a temporary Utility Forester Intern, you will be immersed in the world of vegetation management, assisting us in providing reliable electric service to our rural members, and supporting the Cooperative’s safety and environmental stewardship goals. Your experience will give you a leg up as you continue your education, providing hands-on experience in the electric utility industry. You will spend most of your day outside, learning the day-to-day of a utility forester: identifying and assessing potential hazards, documenting field surveys and inspections, implementing tree-trimming schedules to help minimize power outages, using GIS technology, and educating cooperative members about vegetation management practices as it relates to electrical reliability.

Climate Action and Resilience Program Manager

Reducing Emissions Campaign Manager

The Climate Reality Project is a nonprofit organization founded by former US Vice President Al Gore. Our mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every sector of society.

Position Summary

The Reducing Emissions Campaign Manager will develop strategies and identify opportunities for the organization to align the efforts and actions of our volunteer base to make a tangible impact in reducing emissions across the globe. They will operate within the Campaigns team, working closely with the Global Campaigns Director and the Campaigns and Field SVP, to integrate emissions reduction into the broader work of the organization and ensure we are accurately measuring our impact and telling our story. They will directly oversee local grant-funded efforts in the Ohio River Valley, support emissions reduction initiatives of our US chapters and international branches, lead on actions for our network of global leaders and actively engage with coalition partners and funders.

Currently reporting to the Campaigns and Field SVP, the Reducing Emissions Campaign Manager will manage two Regional Organizers on the Ohio River Valley petrochemical campaign. This is a full time, exempt, benefits-eligible, hybrid position. The Climate Reality Project offers a flexible hybrid schedule, with staff working from our office in downtown Washington, DC at least two days per week to enable and encourage collaboration within and among teams. The salary for this role is $86,700-$88,434 USD per year.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervisory

General

Continue to build on overall strategy and theory of change with guidance from Campaigns and Field SVP, and develop and steward concrete implementation plans for the global reducing emissions campaign for our network to take collective global actions to reducing emissions
Serve as organization’s lead expert on reducing emissions and related policies, research, trends, and areas of focus, regularly providing trainings and briefings to raise internal understanding and external profile of the organization’s work on this campaign
Develop strategies and tactics for reducing emissions across the globe with organizational assets
Coordinate and align the existing emissions reductions efforts happening in our US chapters and international branches to ensure maximum impact
Manage the strategic operation, budget, and reporting of the Ohio River Valley petrochemical campaign, ensuring that the goals of the campaign align with the organizational goals and the goals of coalitions and partners in the region
Partner with Advancement team to identify, cultivate, secure funding, and as appropriate, manage relationship with funders
Lead gathering, evaluation, and analysis of impact across the organization on work related to reducing emissions. Utilize this information to produce outcomes and compliance reports in accordance with grant and organizational requirements on time sensitive deadlines
Coordinate with Training and Events team to support training content and actions, and with the Science, Solutions, and Policy team to determine strategic policy actions that our volunteers can take related to the campaign
Build and maintain relationships with coalition partners, coordinating closely with Climate and Environmental Justice and Partnerships teams to maximize organizational and community engagement
Engage with the Digital, Creative, and Reality Hub teams to create press releases, blogs, social and earned media, and other communication materials to enhance public awareness on the importance of climate finance in solving the crisis
Proactively work with the Science, Solutions, and Policy team to ensure that all campaign materials support our volunteers and are in alignment with the strategic goals of the campaign
Support and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our operations and enrichment of our culture, for example by serving on ad hoc or ongoing work groups, assisting with the onboarding and training of colleagues, and participating in efforts to assess, refine, and strengthen our culture and practices

Required Skills and Abilities

Detailed knowledge of a broad range of campaign strategies and tactics, with proven ability to create and translate strategy into actionable campaign plans
Proven track record with coalition building, volunteer engagement, grassroots or field organizing in North America and at least one additional global region
Project management acumen, including ability to coordinate across multiple departments, set team priorities, manage several projects simultaneously, set and meet timelines, and anticipate obstacles and opportunities

Education and Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in campaigning, program management, and/or community organizing
At least three years of experience building and managing a team
Experience with and awareness of cultural diversity with a lens on equity and justice and possess the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of organizations, coalitions, and volunteers
Experience designing and implementing strategic campaigns to encourage action and change policy and/or behavior toward environmental, climate justice and/or emissions reduction

Energy Program Manager – Transportation Infrastructure

Position Responsibilities:

Energy Program Managers work to develop and implement initiatives that support the State’s energy and climate goals while also addressing equity and making the state more competitive. MEA’s programmatic offerings consist of technical assistance, loans, and/or grants designed to help achieve Maryland’s climate goals. MEA is seeking a Program Manager to lead the implementation of electric vehicle (EV) transportation infrastructure to meet the State’s transportation electrification goals, and drive the adoption of electric vehicles.

This position will manage programs that incentivize the installation of EV charging infrastructure across the state, contributing to a significant reduction in reliance on fossil fuels. Responsibilities include managing the full lifecycle of infrastructure grant programs, from development and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. This involves crafting grant guidelines, evaluating proposals, managing budgets, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Transportation Infrastructure programs include incentives designed to drive EV adoption through investments in charging that serves the commercial sector as well as individual Maryland residents. Specifically, this position will spearhead the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Rebate Program, providing crucial financial support to individuals and businesses, and the Community EVSE Program, which strategically deploys charging stations at multi-family dwellings and key community locations.

The successful candidate will bring technical expertise on EV charging infrastructure with demonstrated history of driving and delivering large and complex programs. The successful candidate should also bring a passion for transportation electrification and the ability to communicate effectively, market programs, work with stakeholders, and lead processes and workflows across multi-functional teams.

The position will be responsible for the following:

Program Development and Management: Oversee all aspects of two programs, including program design, development, and implementation. Manage program budgets. Lead grant and rebate workflow and process management. Establish key clean transportation program goals, develop and deploy tasks and monitor and report on progress towards milestones and priorities. Monitor progress and conformance with program budget targets and performance goals where applicable. Monitor program performance, analyze data related to installed EV chargers, and create report findings for MEA management and external stakeholders. Resolve issues with grantees, agencies, private sector organizations. Manage grantees in assigned functional areas through the entire grant process: developing and overseeing applications processes; producing grant agreements; providing technical review of proposals; evaluating financial feasibility; visiting grant project sites to verify compliance and completion of grant requirements; and providing technical review for approval of project related reports and invoices. Work with MEA’s Attorney General’s office to ensure legal sufficiency of all documents.

Technical Expertise: Provide subject and technical expertise as needed to agency leadership, policy colleagues, other state agencies, and outside stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders including electric utilities, EV charging equipment manufacturers, EV network providers, installers, and other industry stakeholders to improve program access and implementation for clean energy programs. Foster and maintain stakeholder relationships with multiple levels of property owners, government, community members, organizations, and the private sector.

Program Evaluation and Improvement: Continuously monitor program performance, analyze data related to EV charger installations, and utilize these insights to evaluate program effectiveness. Based on evaluation, recommend improvements to program design, implementation, and outreach strategies to optimize clean transportation initiatives (as assigned). Conduct routine compliance-related activities, including awardee project compliance evaluations, site visits, and monitoring, to include statutory, regulatory, and programmatic requirements; report program metrics, insights, and data to internal MEA senior management and external parties on a regular basis;

Minimum Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, business administration, economics, finance, environmental policy or management, energy or an energy-related discipline, or a related field or equivalent experience.

● At least four (4) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. One of those years must include direct experience with managing federal, state or local programs related to energy efficiency, clean energy, clean transportation grant administration, including application review, budget management, and reporting.

● Proficiency in the Microsoft Office (also known as “Microsoft 365”) Suite, with special emphasis on Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet-based program(s). The successful candidate should not require instruction on these programs.

● Demonstrated proficiency in business and technical writing.

● Strong verbal and written communication skills.

● Demonstrated track-record of stakeholder engagement.

● Experience developing and managing complex programs or large-scale complicated projects, including establishing and communicating milestones, directing teams or workflows, and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

● At least two (2) years experience in a role directly related to electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

● Demonstrated technical knowledge or engineering experience, specifically related to EV charging infrastructure.

● Experience and comfort with meeting, interacting with, and providing information to, senior management teams, executive leadership, and government officials.

● Experience with Salesforce or similar customer relationship management (CRM) software.

● Experience working to develop draft legal agreements, such as but not limited to grant agreements, memorandums of understanding, financing agreements, and others.

● Experience and comfort with meeting and interacting with senior business and government officials.

● Current PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), or equivalent certification.

● Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to environmental justice and equity principles or experience working with underserved communities.
