Southeastern Wind Coalition

The Southeastern Wind Coalition (SEWC) is a non-profit coalition of industry, academia, partner NGOs, government, and utilities working to advance the land-based and offshore wind industry in the Southeastern U.S. We take a business-minded and economically focused approach to building the case for wind energy, including the wind supply chain.

SUMMARY

The Program Director will be an integral part of both internal and external organizational management; crafting and advancing SEWC’s program and policy priorities, leading internal operations, assisting with organizational strategy and funding development. The Director will manage staff career development, maintain and build new relationships with important stakeholders, and direct other high level business of the organization. Depending on location, this position will build and lead various outreach and education efforts, either directly or in conjunction with Program staff. You will be a key staff member, working closely with SEWC’s President, in a small, energetic, growing, and mission-driven organization. This position requires a self-starter with a can-do attitude. Must be able to work independently, build strong relationships and provide effective staff development and internal organization. This position reports to the President.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 10 years experience in energy, environment, and/or policy

Proven track record of serving in a leadership role that focuses on convening stakeholders with varied perspectives

Experience with strategic planning, understanding and shaping external goals and strategic initiatives to augment the reach of SEWC’s mission

The candidate must be a self starter and be able to provide examples of proactive thinking and initiatives

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, work effectively from home and maintain a positive attitude

Provide inspirational leadership, give constructive feedback, and understand the importance of career development planning

A passion for seeing the clean energy industry grow and helping to make it happen

A commitment to the advancement of the Southeastern region of the United States

Excellent oral and written presentation skills along with a good eye for digestible social media posts, fact sheets, and other external materials

Competitive non-profit salary commensurate with experience ($95k-$120k for director level hire)
