Associate Attorney
Website Super Law Group
Associate Attorney – Full-Time, Hybrid, September 2026
Super Law Group seeks an associate attorney dedicated to environmental protection. We are litigators and advocates for the environmental movement, with an emphasis on clean water. The associate will focus primarily on federal cases that prevent pollution of rivers, lakes, wetlands, and coastal waters, but not exclusively: our team has litigated cases arising under a variety of environmental statutes and at every level of the state and federal courts.
The position is based in our lower Manhattan office, but with a flexible schedule, very reasonable billable hour expectations, and the ability to work remotely much of the time after establishing familiarity and comfort in the role. We need a person who:
- Shares our commitment to serving the environmental movement as litigators;
- Has strong writing, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills;
- Enjoys getting into the details and working with experts to reduce pollution at specific sites;
- Takes ownership of problems as they arise, stays with them until they are resolved, and helps us continually improve our practices so that we can spend more of our time fighting for a cleaner and healthier environment.
At Super Law Group, we practice law together. Our associates work closely with SLG’s partners and of-counsel attorneys to gain significant experience and independence early in their careers. We have worked hard to create standardized processes that help junior attorneys take the lead on cases successfully. We will help the new associate take significant control over their cases and operate with a high degree of independence when working with larger teams. Super Law Group’s junior associates routinely conduct factual investigations, legal research, and discovery; draft notice letters, complaints, and motions; attend court appearances; interface directly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel; and monitor compliance with settlements. As our associates gain more experience and responsibility, they take lead on settlement negotiations, present oral arguments on motions, prepare for and conduct depositions, and take lead on motion and appellate briefs and arguments before federal courts.
Established in 2008, Super Law Group provides legal services to environmental groups and individuals seeking to protect and restore natural resources, with a strong focus on water. Our clients range from concerned citizens and community groups to large national and international organizations. We are committed to the public interest. Our lawyers have extensive legal knowledge and practical experience in areas including water pollution, air pollution, energy, endangered species, parkland protection, land use planning, environmental impact review, access to public records, and more. In service of the public interest and our client’s needs, we are also interested in expanding the firm’s legal knowledge and practical experience to other areas of the law.
