Stormwater Coordinator

The city of Branson is looking for a Stormwater Coordinator to lead stormwater compliance, education, and best practices
that keep our city in step with MS4 requirements and environmental excellence.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the City’s compliance efforts with the MS4 permit by planning, updating, and managing the Stormwater Management Plan and related reporting.
Review construction plans, perform site inspections, and enforce codes to ensure effective erosion control and sustainable stormwater practices.
Investigate stormwater violations, illicit discharges, and illegal dumping, and take appropriate enforcement or corrective actions.
Develop policies, ordinances, and best management practices that support long-term watershed health and regulatory compliance.
Conduct water quality testing, track program data, and provide training to staff or volunteers involved in stormwater initiatives.

What are the Minimum Qualifications:

A High School diploma or GED Equivalent.
Possess or obtain certified erosion, sediment and stormwater Inspector certification (CESSWI) within six (6) months of start date.
Graduation from an institution of higher learning accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through one of its regional accrediting agencies with the primary focus
of education in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field of study.
Equivalent degree or six (6) years of experience in biological sciences, public works or related field may be substituted.
A background in environmental science or similar degree is preferred
Possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate is preferred.
GIS experience is preferred.
At least 18, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

The annual salary is $61,886.90 and will increase to $64,362.38 after 6 months of successful probation.

Natural Resources Scientist Associate

The Natural Resources Scientist Associate performs a variety of technical tasks to support departmental programs and initiatives. This role includes reviewing basic permit applications for compliance, conducting field inspections and environmental sampling, assisting with data maintenance and documentation, and supporting outreach events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct basic field inspections and collect, submit, and track environmental samples under the direction of Natural Resource Scientist II, III, or Program Managers.
Perform sanitary surveys, water use audits, illicit discharge inspections, stormwater inspections, water conservation checks, and well and septic system inspections.
Receive and respond to environmental, discharge, and waste complaints related to assigned areas; assist senior staff in developing recommendations and corrective actions.
Collect, process, store, retrieve, and assist with the analysis of Natural Resource Services data and spatial information in electronic and paper formats; maintain accurate records of inspections and investigations.
Verify compliance with relevant county ordinances; respond to inquiries from the public and regulated entities.
Support senior staff with application and plan reviews, environmental and technical report writing, research, and correspondence as assigned.
Provide telephone support, customer service, fee collection, basic permit issuance, and general assistance during departmental events and programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned, including participation in cross-departmental initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Environmental Studies, Earth or Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Archeology, Construction Management, Health & Safety Management, Forestry, Biology, Wildlife Management, or a related field.
One (1) year of work experience involving any of the areas listed.

Environmental Manager 2 – OAQ Permits

This position is in Office of Air Quality Permits Branch. The position requires project management and time management skills. Ideal candidate would be detail oriented, be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel. This position is located in Indianapolis, five days in office, with occasional opportunities for site visit. The purpose of this position is to perform those activities as necessary to help the Permit Review Section achieve its goals as they relate to the overall strategic goals and objectives of the Permits Branch. As such, this Employee reviews applications for Air permit approvals which include MSOP, FESOP and Part 70 permits; and modifications, revisions and amendments to these permits. The Employee is responsible for drafting these approvals, which includes drafting conditions that are practically enforceable and assure compliance with state and federal air pollution laws and regulations.

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

Assistant Professor, Environmental Biology

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota invites candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor faculty position on a renewable three-year appointment in the department of Biology that will start in August of 2026. Environmental Compliance Analyst

Love’s Environmental is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Analyst to manage established environmental programs for Musket Corporation and Love’s Alternative Energy. Primary duties will include managing environmental compliance, completing environmental regulatory compliance audits, conducting personnel training at required intervals, permitting infrastructure as it pertains to environmental compliance, interfacing with local, state and federal regulators, and assisting with emergency response at locations as it arises. Communicating with upper management routinely as to the progress of duties will be required.

Experience and Qualifications:

BS degree in a hard science discipline such as environmental science, biology, chemistry, geology or an engineering discipline.

An environmentally related professional designation is preferred but not required.

At least 3 years of experience in the environmental regulatory field is a must.

Hydrogeologist 2

This position’s primary purpose is to perform hydrologic fieldwork and is responsible for data collection in support of the Department’s programs. Specifically groundwater level measurements, stream flow measurements, well discharge measurements, plus the occasional assistance with the operation & maintenance, downloading, and uploading of transducer well data from well sites.

This position is expected to maintain and input data into ADWR databases. Drafting of hydrologic reports and field summaries for management and the general public. Must be able to four-wheel drive off road to many well sites, work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, walk with water-level measurement equipment sometimes over a half a mile to well site and lift equipment up to 10-20 lbs. with flexibility to maneuver around well site.

The person in this position may occasionally assist with the repair and installation of automated well sites and therefore be able to lift supplies/equipment up to 60 lbs. Contacts owners for permission to measure, travels to well sites to make measurements using electrical sounders, steel tape, etc. and maintains contact and well site information in Master Section files.

Education: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in geology, hydrology, or a related field, or a related field, and two years of hydrologic or a related experience; or a Master’s degree in one of the above fields.

Endangered Species and Environmental Review Biologist

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Environmental Services, Water Division, Land Resources Management Program has a full time vacancy for an Endangered Species and Environmental Review Biologist.

Summary:

Evaluates potential impacts on protected species of wildlife from proposed projects and provides technical assistance for avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating impacts as part of the NHDES Ecological Review Section.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 1.5 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 5.5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in biology, wildlife or fisheries management, wildlife or fisheries research, or related field.

Research Scientist I

We seek to hire a Research Scientist 1 to join and grow with the long-standing right whale research team as part of the Kraus Marine Mammal Conservation Program. Our team has developed a low-cost, open-source, customizable smart acoustic recorder that can be deployed in different configurations to monitor signals and noise levels at sea and in New England Aquarium (NEAq) exhibits. This scientist will continue developing these systems, utilize them to make inferences about the effects of noise on marine species in different environments, and help make them broadly available to the greater research and conservation communities.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week) position with a comprehensive benefits package. This is a two-year, grant-funded position with the possibility of extension depending on funding. Work will be conducted primarily remotely with occasional in-person meetings at both our workspace in Portland, ME and NEAq in Boston, MA. Occasional international travel may be required. Typical work hours are flexible with remote meetings occurring between 9 am – 5 pm EST Monday – Friday. A laptop will be provided, but an adequate workspace and high-speed internet connection are required as well as residence in one of the following states: MA, RI, NH, ME, NY, or VT.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Training and Experience

PhD. in marine biology, oceanography, bioacoustics or related field or a MS with 3 additional years of relevant experience is required.
Record of successful collaboration, fundraising and publishing is required.
Experience with ocean acoustics, including acoustic monitoring, instrumentation, and data analysis is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
